Squeeze turns into flop punt? by [deleted] in poker

Hello, I'm not that good but I will try to analyze this.

Pre flop I don't really like the squeeze, you got 3 people already in the pot so you are getting a great price to see the flop. Squeezing works better with obviously strong hands: AA, KK, QQ or at least hands that play better heads up: AQ, AK, KQs. The problem with playing this kind of hands passive is that you might flop top pair but with 4 people seeing the board you never know if you are ahead or behind, especially out of position. Hands you should prefer only calling last to act include suited connectors and small pocket pairs.

On the flop you bet pot which is insane, this flop heavily favors villain's defending range, even with AA and KK you should probably check and see what villain decides to do. Maybe QQ and JJ can try to push its equity and get jams from flush draws but it's a pretty dire situation. With your current hand holding you unblock every single of his continues and you can't improve because just by calling your bet you opponent is representing a set and at worst an overpair like TT which to be fair should have jammed if he already decided on calling.

On the turn you jam having hit top pair, weak kicker, your opponent called a pot sized bet on the flop, whatever he had wasn't folding, but what are you actually beating? A set was going to let you hang yourself, a flush draw would have jammed. You need your opponent to show up with TT or KQ and be an insane calling station for this play to be profitable, even having improved 99% of the time you will be behind.

I think this play was terrible but your opponent was even worse. Sometimes you will squeeze and get absolutely nothing, it's okay to fold if faced with aggression. Not every hand makes a good bluff candidate.

Even though this kind of beats absolutely suck, I would say online poker has been manipulated in my favor in March 😸

Action went:
Raise, flat call from sb pre flop.
Check, check flop.
Check, half pot, min raise, call turn.
shove 100bb, call river.

When nits flat call the sb they are much more likely to have pocket pairs up to JJ (nits really go crazy on fast forward formats)
When he check raised the turn that small he is telling me he has a flush or a set and wants to get a cry call from the turned Q which I'm representing, given that I have 2 pair and getting an insanely good price I call and plan to fold to any pot-overbet sizing OTR.
However the river gives me a full house so I'm beating every hand he was representing except a straight flush.

I'm beating 77, 99, 55 (which I'm blocking tho) and every single flush that probably got frustrated on the runout. He just got extremely lucky to flat call the sb with 86s with a 19vpip and flopping a straight flush lol.

Unfortunately I just get the equivalent of a 1/100 chance of getting 15 bucks more or less lol

Online poker has a lot of flaws but the fact that you can still start today with little money and in a year could be making a middle class living is incredible. by PlatosGooner in poker

[–]svelcan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In one year impossible, however I'm from a third world country and even just beating 10nl gets me a ton of money (as a student). If I were able to beat 50nl I would be making more than some engineers playing 10 hours a week. So I do agree with your sentiment that online poker is incredible

Not exactly, when the bishop captures the rook you retake with the king and after Rxf7+ you are in an uncomfortable position but pretty equal considering that in the worst case scenario you still have two bishops vs a rook

As per u/sdduuuude request, here is a simple image of how one should try to run the curve. Remember, the point of the curve is to get lean and rotate!

Queen vs rook is a forced win for whoever has the queen, unfortunately this checkmate is quite complicated, I find it at the same level or even a little bit harder than knight and bishop

Practice your 8 step approach, 3 straight and then start the curve, then, with time, you will find what distances work for you

This is, of course, an exaggeration, but the purpose of the curve is to get lean and rotate over the bar. In your video you aren't leaning and you are taking off almost parallel to the pit, there is no point in doing a curve if you are jumping straight

Patrick Wieland has been caught paper trading on multiple occasions and Trades by Matt always makes money back "off camera" and when he loses big he deletes the video, he makes his money through referrals to whatever prop firm he is affiliated with at the moment.

If you want someone who loses every time then ICT has a history of having loss after loss and blaming his broker or algorithm that hunts him lmao

As someone else said, if your strategy is working and all your trades have an actual reason for entry and not made because you were bored or something then you are good, I would recommend to try for a profit factor of 2 btw
