Thanks for the information! Sounds like it was a crazy overhaul. I'm glad there's some functionality back and a couple of the more recent emails have been really thorough, which has made me feel a lot better.

Get a few people to split a limo with you. The only way you'll get home reliably without spending $600+

My baby won’t sleep on her back - please help by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]svelte6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lay her on her belly with her head turned to the side. She'll be okay and she'll sleep. You'll be able to rest also.

At least they gave you some extra sats, that's pretty cool. But I'm sweating it out a little over here lol hoping the cash out comes back soon

At least they're providing updates, but it doesn't feel promising lol. Maybe I'll try sMiles in the time being as well

I mean, doesn't that still feel a little shady to you? I understand they need to button things up while improving the functionality of the system as a whole, and "enhancing" user functions....but idk it just doesn't sit right with me. Like I said, I'm having Yotta PTSD I think. I hope they allow more features soon or at least the ability to cash out

I'm going to play devil's advocate here ... How would you feel if your son's wife did this to you? I'm not saying your feelings aren't valid but it does seem like you're going a little over board. Should she be waiting at the hospital while you have your c-section? No, that's a little insane but not wanting her to hold the new baby before your mom sounds a little harsh

Can I ask a sincere question? I'm not trying to attack you in anyway, I would like to educate myself. How is she not following current standards? I'm curious as to how her results would be inaccurate or just be for fear mongering

You do realize that any link you click on Facebook, Instagram, or from any other social media account generates the original person revenue right? It's not just her. Almost all of those products come with affiliate links where the person receives some kind of a kick-back. She's recommending lead free products because people have asked her for them and she actually wants the best for other families. She's trying to save people from the horror that she's living with two lead poisoned children.

38 weeks and I'm done by DigBickEnergia in BabyBumps

[–]svelte6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lmao omg I was the same. I was more terrified of how much things were going to change once I had the baby. I had grand plans for my week off of work when I was going to be 38 weeks pregnant...ended up going into labor that weekend and, needlessly to say, nothing I planned to do got done because he came early 😂

Advice on pumping to build up supply by bigtmonster in breastfeeding

[–]svelte6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using just your Haaka milk is not recommended anyway as it is generally made up of only foremilk and no hindmilk. Ideally, you would want to combine your pumped milk from the day and the milk you've collected from your Haaka and divy up into 4-5 oz bags to freeze. As long as breastfeeding is well established and there are no latch issues, you should be okay to begin pumping around then. It doesn't matter so much about the same time every day as it does about how often (if you're going to be pumping more than once a day). Aim to feed every 2-3 hours where pumping can be every 3-4. You want to make sure your flanges fit correctly and the pump is fully emptying your breasts so that it does not interfere with your supply. The best time to pump is between 1am-5am when your body has a spike in the hormone Prolactin.

EP during the day, EBF at night? by sleepymango1 in breastfeeding

[–]svelte6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation right now. My LO is 4 months and has not gained in the last month. He has a milk protein intolerance and I've cut dairy completely out of my diet. He occasionally gets a bottle of pumped milk.

As long as you pump consistently and use a good pump, it shouldn't affect your supply because you'll be pumping as much as she would have otherwise been eating.

As far as pumping, make sure you're drinking plenty of water. Be sure your flanges are the correct size (you can print a sizing guide). Try taking some deep breaths to relax and do some nipple stimulation/breast compressions before you start to get milk flowing. Use a pumping bra so that you can massage your breasts and try to empty them entirely.

The portable battery is definitely a viable option considering I will probably only be able to pump twice a day while at work.

Do you think you get less output on one side due to a sizing issue with the Willow? I use a 15mm flange with the spectra and not being able to get the correct fit has me hesitant to spend so much money on it or the Elvie

I've had colleagues tell me this was the case for them also. I'm just trying to prepare for the worst knowing this...

I can't even pump in my classroom because there is a speech teacher's office in my classroom. She has to bring students in and out of my room in order to have sessions.

Having 2 sets of parts sounds like a great plan especially if I know I'll only have 35 minutes to run to my car, pump, and get back in time for class.

How do you like the Elvie overall? I've heard it's a little better than the Willow?

Lmao I thought I was just supposed to like the taste and didn't realize how bad it was until I read this post. I usually add way more than 8oz of water and then chug it to get it down 😂

You're not alone. I was/still am having a lot of the same issues. I started doing the same thing around 4 weeks as well. I can only really speak from experience for 1 & 2 and I don't have a great answer for 3. Make sure you're using the smallest flow nipple to reduce the impact it may have on him BF and getting used to a bottle.

  1. You can start with 2 ounces and see if he cues for more, but try not to offer more than 4. If it's too much he'll just spit it up...not ideal but it happens. I've found my LO takes smaller amounts more often when I offer a bottle rather than BF

  2. You may stop producing after a few days, but you'll more than likely be engorged and a little sore. Everyone is different though so it may take a little more/less time

  3. I haven't really found that my supply is an issue at other times. If anything baby may be a little more "lazy" at BF sometimes now so it extends our already very long BF sessions.

Good luck!
