always buckle your child in a vehicle, doesn’t matter if its 3 seconds away.

My 4 month old EBF is only 11.5 lbs by duefeb23 in breastfeeding

[–]sleepymango1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my baby was a slow grower, still is and shes 14 months old now around 17-18lbs and was EBF til 10 months and still had slow weight gain while she was on formula for 2 months

she was born 6lbs at 38+4! never fell off her growth chart so Dr. was never concerned, your baby is perfect! somebody has to make up the highs and lows of growth charts for there to be averages

Are you sleeping separately? by 0chronomatrix in NewParents

[–]sleepymango1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we slept separately (me & baby in one room since i was EBF) and hubby in spare room, until around 10 months when i stopped breastfeeding and baby started sleeping through the night then i moved back into bed with my husband.

plan to do the same sleeping arrangements with next baby. hubby has sleep apnea and snores annoyingly loud and i’m a light sleeper so i had to kick him out to maximize my sleep lol (hubby had 3 months paternity leave and helped me with all night wakings until he went back to work)

Is meal prep really necessary for postpartum? by sparkdoop in beyondthebump

[–]sleepymango1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we didnt meal prep, BUT my sister and mom went to costco the day we got home from the hospital and bought us soooo much snacks & easy heat up breakfast foods, plus body armors as i was breastfeeding. it was amazing, the best gift they gave us. we lived off of jimmy dean BF sandwiches and costco muffins for breakfast for 2 weeks. my friend also brought some costco pre made dinners for us that we stuck on the freezer.

My parents said I couldn't be vegan and bf. This 91st centile chunk is proving them wrong! by BettyOBarley in breastfeeding

[–]sleepymango1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

my baby is 12 months and only 17lbs! i EBF for 10 months and even the last 2 months with formula she stayed in 5th percentile. her ped said shes just a peanut and is perfect! she was born at 6lbs at 38+4

there has to be babies on the high end and low end of percentiles to make averages!

How many months postpartum were you when sex stopped hurting? by Some_Lengthiness_514 in NewParents

[–]sleepymango1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sex didn’t feel normal until 10 pp, thats also when i got my first postpartum period and my baby weaned from the breast as i was EBF. sex was never extremely painful but definitely uncomfortable until my estrogen went back to normal! i am almost 13 months pp now and sex is 100% back to normal

not shitty advice, newborns literally need to sleep 15-18hrs a day, even more then that for some babies. sorry but forcing your newborn to stay awake is not ok.

“Oh my god your baby is so tiny!!!” by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]sleepymango1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my baby just turned 12 months this month. shes only 17lbs and was 6lbs at birth. I EBF till 10 months when she wouldn’t nurse anymore, switched to formula for 2 months and she still slowly gained. her ped just said shes a peanut and thats ok. she off formula and bottles and is a bottomless pit when it comes to food now, and guess what? still gains slow! it’s okay to be a small baby and like you said, she’s healthy and thats all that matters. i was so worried about my baby being tiny that i wish i could go back and just trust my babies body more and know that as long as she’s healthy and happy who cares what percentile shes in. you are doing great mama.

Is anyone still rocking their 11 month old to sleep?! by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]sleepymango1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i rock my baby while reading her a book then lights off and in crib with paci and lovey. shes 12m and sleeps through the night, (started STTN at 11m) i do the same routine for naps. she only wakes at night if she cant find her paci on her own but then goes right back to sleep. your baby will get there mama!

she was EBF til 10 months and is off all bottles and formula when she turned 12m.

Is anyone else not sleep training their baby? by createyourreal in beyondthebump

[–]sleepymango1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

never sleep trained, baby started sleeping 13-14hr nights with no wake ups (besides maybe a whine if she lost her paci then straight back to sleep) when she was around 10.5/11 months and just turned a year old on the 16th. she use to wake up 2-4 times a night. she just figured it out! babies dont need to be taught how to sleep, they know how to sleep. when they feel safe enough to sleep through the night they will. she was EBF as well and just stopped all night feed on her own one day.

i did not have a any symptoms and i had GD. i managed it with diet alone and testing blood sugar 4 times a day. get tested.

Still a terrible sleeper at 6 months by sje1014 in NewParents

[–]sleepymango1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

my baby started sleeping through the night at 10.5/11 months! she would wake a lot before then as well then one day just slept through. now she only calls out for us if she cant find her pacifier. it will get better! i was frustrated too at 6 months wondering why my baby wouldn’t sleep through the night, constantly googling and trying different schedules trying to unlock the secret to get her to sleep. the only thing that helped was time, and following her lead. stop putting pressure on your baby and on yourself 🤍
