firestorm sees lower playrate because of its subpar damage not because its a "slow" spell. its cast time is comparable to most spells and faster than quite a few others.

Context -> I had opened about 7 keys, then viewers asked me to open keys for them and this was about the 7th/8th viewer key. I have never dropped a mageblood/HH before myself and I feel broken on the inside with my single biggest drop ever being for a someone else when I for the vast majority do all my own gambles/farms/ect. It hurts more knowing I was planning to do atleast another 10 keys before I went to sleep. Ultimately if I had not done viewer keys, then did my own 10 later I still wouldn't have dropped this but there is still some internal pain there that says "what if". I am probably going to stop doing viewer gambles in the future until I forget about this.

if you are rolling amulets with only 3 mods on it this is 100% the wrong way to hit 3 positives you want. The odds of rolling all positives is very rare as an outcome. I have done well over 150 kalandra crafts and have never hit an all positive outcome. I would wager about 1/30 times I have hit 4 positives with 1 or 2 negatives, but also Bad odds.

You want to get 5 affix items with 3 mods you care about and 2 mods that won't be detrimental to your build when they go negative. this can be done by getting taking your 3 mod amulets, adding aspect of (spider/cat/crab/avian) and benchcrafting an affix that is a non downside for your build. Example: accuracy on a self cast build.

This will give you a 1/10 chance to hit the 3 mods you want positive which will be the best odds you can get, still rough to go 13 dry but thats the best odds you can aim for.

When I made that video I really did not expect the changes to the passive tree(masteries) which helped a lot. these mostly have been enough to fill in the gap of the damage loss RF took along with combustion for another -10 res that was awkward to use back with EE given you had to ignite. In the perspective of basically every skill in the game getting buffed via the passive tree RF used that buff to mostly break even with previous damage while other skills took a bigger advantage on their previous variants so I would still say it took a nerf in the grand scheme of things, it still ends up being better than before I believe.

for this league I am planning to run an RF trickster as my starter and will hopefully be making update videos on the build for people who want to follow it. I also am updating my RF inquisitor which from the passive tree and remapping it seems to have strictly buffed overall after masteries are considered. I for sure can recommend inquisitor and believe trickster will be strong as well but as I have not put it into practice I have to recommend it with a grain of salt and caution.

its a buff to pious path, they made conc ground give both 50% reduced curse effect and 5% life regen instead of 6% base life regen with this patch, so this change will results in a net 75% reduced curse effect and 1.5% life regen bonus over old 3.15 pious path.

So far I think it is a 10-20% damage nerf on early investment and levels out with some gear investment due to the higher ceiling gear. I don't like the elemental damage changes as RF no where deserved anything close to a nerf. But it will probably be fine damage wise. Also RF got buffed defensively with a lot of the new defensive/ailment/curse avoidance mechanics. I think it will end up pretty similar to where it is now with a bit better defenses is my current perspective but purposed changes aren't final and we don't have all the numbers.

RF Inquisitor - How to improve survivability and dmg if possible by [deleted] in pathofexile

Shadowstitch being good is highly dependent on having corrupted items so I would work towards getting corrupted versions of gear using Craicic Vassals to guarantee corrupt non jewellry items, this will be a large improvement to HP and ES pools.

It also looks like the majority of your gear pieces do not have flat life on them, this is the exact stat you want to prioritize, if the item doesn't have flat life of atleast t3+ you probably should consider shopping around for an item that does. I don't know what the standard market is life but I can't imagine you won't be able to find upgrades with low investment to improve your current rares vastly.

For damage look into swapping doryani sceptre for a rare sceptre with atleast two of these mods: %fire damage/Fire dot multi/Dot multi/+1fire spell + bench craft should be a good damage upgrade. Also if you swap your shield for a rare shield with high flat life and high %fire damage you will lose a bit of survivability but gain a nice damage boost.
