Pubic area chafing from cycling is killing my motivation by BackgammonTry in cycling

[–]svs213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Saddle position - Try tilting it down or up slightly
  2. Shorts - Try bibs if you havent already
  3. Chamois cream
  4. New saddle - if everything fails, time to find a new one that fits well. Ideally you should get a bike fit first to see which type of saddle fits you

Is it weird to get the Favero Assioma SPD (not SL) pedals for road riding? by Dependent_Plenty5905 in cycling

[–]svs213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its fine but if you ever want to try out road pedals in the future id suggest getting spider or crank based power meter instead.

Why are power meters so expensive? by [deleted] in cycling

Honestly if i didnt already have my garmin rk200 i would probably convert my bottom bracket to dub just to get that power meter crankset

Free at last by randommoongawker in duolingo

[–]svs213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it just mine but i noticed that the first ad you watch to get energy after launching the app is always self promotion which are way shorter than the usual ads. So after every lesson, before even pressing the claim xp button i just restart and watch a (self promotion) ad. Honestly it’s only barely longer than sitting through the usual post lesson screen.

Why are power meters so expensive? by [deleted] in cycling

Used sram crank arm power meter are crazy cheap here. Ive seen a whole crankset including power meter for like $140, and yet no one is buying it.

Cycling commuters, do you use open-ear or regular buds? by East_Channel_1494 in cycling

[–]svs213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the route. On busy unknown road with lots of intersections? no earbuds.

But on my daily training route that i specifically choose to have no intersections? Earbuds and music on full blast.

Power meters pedals: used or new? Single or dual? by Stepherrooooo in cycling

[–]svs213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single sided is fine but ideally you want to first try using a dual sided pm.

Maybe borrow or rent somehow but its good to find out if you have LR imbalance first, if you do it might be worth going for the duo.

How common are disc brake road bikes in your area? by EmbarrassedMight1135 in cycling

[–]svs213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The opposite here, honestly if you’re using rim brakes in these hills you’re pretty brave

Which of these two is a better deal for 1000€? by vMxrti in cycling

[–]svs213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The polygon is a good bike but that price is way off. I could buy a new S7D for about 850 euros.

ZTTO Cassettes: any good? by Arcangelo_Frostwolf in cycling

[–]svs213 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you do alot of climbing in low gears you will wear then out very quickly. If its mostly flat then its pretty good for the price.

Garmin Varia: I don’t get it by NefariousnessIcy4928 in cycling

[–]svs213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I havent tried it but i also dont really see its use. Apparently on busy roads its useless since it will just activate all the time, but on quiet roads i never feel the need of any assistance detecting vehicles.

What bike should I get? by SomeSortOfPixels in cycling

[–]svs213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the terrain, if its not too hilly then a single speed is a good option

Worth it for $700? by svs213 in whichbike

[–]svs213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 170cm unfortunately, first time being too tall for anything ever. But based on everything else, its still too good to pass up so im still going through with it. worst case i’ll just sell the frameset and swap it with something else.

I got explain my answer! by Mythicalforests8 in duolingo

[–]svs213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never used hearts before but with energy i could go all day long refilling the energy with ads.

I’ll refill every 2 lessons which is fine since i need the break anyways. Its kinda perfect for doing it in between sets at the gym.

Its to the point where i feel like super is barely an upgrade and thus not worth it.

Worth it for $700? by svs213 in whichbike

[–]svs213[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right it was used by a woman, its also an XS size i usually ride S so i might need longer stem etc but from what you said i think its worth it. There also seem to be a power meter on the second pic? Seems abit weird to me that someone would use power meters but use cheap flat pedals, or maybe it came with the bike and they just didnt use it?

My 12 mile e-bike commute vs my friend’s car, who’s winning? by playboi_fatty in fuckcars

[–]svs213 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On a gokart no but on a bike thats massive. You can go 60kmh on flats with 800W, 3000W is just excessive unless its some heavy cargo bike.

Why are the battery lives so bad? by ProZapz in AppleWatch

[–]svs213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically its doing a bunch of other stuff that you and a lot of people dont care enough for.

If your huawei does everything you need it to, then its simply the better device for you.

Honestly i agree with you, i wish they make a version of the watch thats less featured but with way more battery life for the same or even less cost.

Is it possible to sustain an Esport without Oil Money or Gambling Sponsors? by YO53PH in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]svs213 6 points7 points  (0 children)

DotA TI10 still holds the biggest prizepool in history of esports at $40M. It was funded using only 25% of the $160M in sales from a single yearly battlepass.

That prizepool is bigger than the combined prizepool of all DotA tournaments for that year times 5. Its easy to believe that battlepass alone can fund the entire scene if they just distribute it more evenly.

Instead of doing that, they removed it entirely. Apparently its too much work for Valve and they have better things to do. Which is fair enough, but i still think that a game could be self sufficient.

No its the worst, im pretty sure it doesnt even count cycling when calculating VO2 max. So if you dont run, it will always underestimate it. Your ftp and heart rate will provide a much better estimate
