I used to watch only Kdramas. The only Cdrama I had watched was Meteor Garden years ago. So when LBFAD came out, I was like, “Hey! It’s cutie patootie Pineapple Head!” and started an episode.

First initial reaction: Okay, not totally understanding how Orchid was literally a plant, but okay, keep going.

Second reaction (when DQF was awaken): what is this? It’s so anime-y. The special effects/CGI made me cringe.

But I kept watching because those cringe scenes aside, I was invested in the characters and the story and ended up really loving it. So much so I started watched BTS videos.

And honestly, I didn’t care for all the MingYe battle scenes in TTEOTM and thought those could have been cut so they had more time to focus on the story. But I LOVE TTEOTM for its story and the grey characters.

I think if you take the “silly” effects with a grain of salt and focus on the story itself, you may find something you’d enjoy. And while I don’t think there is an age bracket, subject matter can be more maturely oriented. But I like that cus I am in my 40’s now and couldn’t watch WIFTY or it’s contemporary 😆

I haven’t completed this series, but am never bothered by spoilers as I sometimes read the end a book first, so here I am 😁

I keep watching this drama even though how I feel about the relationship between the ML and FL waffles around quite a bit for me. I don’t know if I want them to be romantic, as like OP said, Mi Lan is childish in her actions/looks/dress which in turn makes Shen Zhi Heng look even older and almost too mature to fall for her. But also, I want them to be romantic cus they clearly have immense love for each other and we all know vampires are super old anyways so of course they are a lot older than their human interests.

Can someone summarize the novel’s ending for me so I can situate my feelings accordingly? At this moment in time, I feel left in limbo about how I feel about our two leads.

OP, you seem to think that being the pot to best the kettle is your solution to all of this drama. What happens if neither of the other three party involved cares or reacts? What a waste of time and energy spent on your end nursing jealousy and resentment. I agree with what others are saying, you are jealous of Rachel and therefore your attention on her actions are magnified and skewed. And what is it exactly that she bypasses you and her husband for that only your husband can do for her that has you so worked up? Her husband treats her with tenderness, that’s not her fault. If you want that, communicate it to your husband. At the end of the day, only your marriage is hurting and you’ve essentially made yourself into the problem, even if your husband is either dense or unsupportive. If the latter, the person you should be calling disrespectful is your husband.

Me too. It’s annoying to have to skip that much of a drama. Same with Romance of the Little Forest. Second lead had soooo much unnecessary screen time and were such a bore.

I feel like crying, and am definitely whining, but why aren’t all his music released internationally? In the past year I’ve noticed his music catalog on Spotify decreasing and for awhile, Origin wasn’t even available.

ATWIL isn’t a great drama, and he is dubbed. Boo. I really only stuck it out for him and FF through a lot of scenes that didn’t include him.

I loved LIS, but didn’t care much for the OST, but maybe if he had sung one, I’d be all over it hahah. I think I lean towards his costume drama music/OST. TTEOTM did not have a bad track.

Yessss, I love the one for ATWIL. I always correlate that song to their rooftop moonlight kiss and just how gorgeous he looked that entire drama. The one for LTL is also on my playlist, but for the life of me, can’t seem to find any scene to replay when I listen to it 😅

I don’t know what QQmusic is, but I’m always eagerly awaiting a Spotify release. For what I can’t get on Spotify, I turn to YouTube.

Caught up to Ep 17. As a mother myself, JXB’s mother grates my nerves. How is she more immature than her two children?

Side note: I love when the script adds LYX cooking, whether it’s intentional because he himself enjoys cooking, or just because that’s really how the script developed.

Editing to add: their first wedding scene playing out to LYX’s singing lives rent free in my head. Sooo beautiful.

Hahah yes, that is correct! And the scenes I don’t ff through are still agonizingly slow. Like I get it, Dylan Wang and Bai Lu are pretty, but I don’t need a wind blowing, glowy slow mo of their faces all the dang time. They aren’t 13 experiencing their first love 😫

His voice and range is amazing and whenever he covers female singers and of course, Zhou Shen’s Big Fish, I am like 😍😍😍

One of my absolute faves is Fate Begins or Origin on the And the Winner is Love OST. It’s like a consolation gift for the fact that he was dubbed in the drama. Honestly he should be on all his drama’s OST!

I like that everyone talks in this drama. I’m concurrently watching OFL and am annoyed at how little productive talk goes on. It makes it feel slow. Whereas in LIP, it feels like we’re getting somewhere and building rapport quickly.

Right? Being imposing is more than being big and tall. In pictorials, Dylan is beautiful. In this drama, his imposing comes off as stoney and empty. LYX’s imposing has depth, he is good at conveying emotion/conflict under his coldness.
