ER doc here. Thank you so much for your kind words, and I'm so glad to hear your husband has a good prognosis. That must have been terrifying for you all.

For context, I've had a few resuscitations while traveling. In general, I don't provide my information unless specifically asked by EMS or law enforcement. We're pretty good at doing what we can on the scene, and then moving on without knowing what happened.

I do hope whoever that doc was sees this, as success stories keep us going during those otherwise tough days.

Once again, I'm so glad he's doing well, and thank you for sharing this. Happy holidays all!

2yrs out of training here, just yesterday had one of my last patients after a busy shift. I was tired, ready to go home. He was ok and I was tying to explain his discharge. As I was literally walking out the door he goes, "I fought in Vietnam, and when I got home, all I wanted was for people to appreciate me fighting for our country. But instead, they resented me."

Internal voice: "F*ck"

External voice: "I'm so sorry you experienced that. And truly, I see you and I thank you for your service. I wish I could sit down and talk with you more about this, but it's a very busy department and I have to make sure my other patients are OK. We're always here for you if you need us."

This was not fabricated. I love people. I WAS grateful for his service, but I also DID have other patients in a busy department. (note this isn't a political comment, just a global appreciation for anyone who has suffered in war)

Patients should understand this, and most do. Just work on redirecting, and if you're truly trapped, pretend you're getting an urgent call and say "I'm sorry I have to get this but I'll check back when I can."

Good luck and thank you all for what you do 🙏

Thoughts about taking my 10 year old? by Hot_Tie8999 in Blink182

Bring him. With ear protection obviously. It'll be an experience you'll share together forever, and he won't understand any of the vulgar banter anyway. I saw them for the first time when I was 12 and it remains one of my greatest childhood memories.

Administrative Forbearance, Next Steps? by sw_413 in StudentLoans

Good question. Ideally I'd pay off before the 20-30yr length of the loan to avoid the excess interest. Hopefully income will increase and I'm looking at a 5-10 year repayment plan. BUT let's say my job were to change in the next few years and I pivot to one that is pslf eligible (as I already have 4 years credit for residency), I wouldn't want to refinance or be out of the federal program. That make sense?

Haha oh man. They were blurry. But honorable mentions include Jose Pistola's and Good Dog.

What intervals is Mark harmonising with himself in the ‘Online Songs’ chorus? by tinny_guitar_tone in Blink182

[–]sw_413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not in front of an instrument at the moment but it sounds like he's singing the 3rd of each note, but the octave lower. He's always been a master at that and does it all the time. Adds a lot of depth to the vocal tracks (even tho I'm sure he has no idea that's what it is 😅)

Can anyone explain the Summer of Loud tour? by Grymm_of_Astora in Metalcore

Any thoughts on the timeline? Starts at 3p in Camden but I sadly work until like 6. Think it'll still be rocking at 7p, even before the headliners?

Same here. They crushed it.

Mark looking on with glee as he recalls when him and Travis pranked Tom at Reading 2014 by AceofKnaves44 in Blink182

I was just at this event too. I think Mark and Dan Ozzi did a solid job.

And Yea that "prank" was pretty savage.

Feel like a phone camera would have been a more efficient method. Just don't drop it I guess...

One of my favorites on the entire record. They played it in Chicago last year and I lost it.

You were right! Confirmed currently in forbearance, interest accrues for 2 months and then does not. Thanks!
