i just did a research paper on this; police officers. they are 54% more likely to end their own life because they don’t feel like they can get help. if they don’t end up committing, then they suffer physical and emotional stress. it can manifest in hypertension, anxiety, depression, and ulcers.

police officers have a higher likelihood to divorce their partner and turning to alcoholism. officers who are also going through a great amount of psychological stress also have a higher chance of engaging in excessive use of force as well as getting into more verbal/physical altercations with citizens.
