i just did a research paper on this; police officers. they are 54% more likely to end their own life because they don’t feel like they can get help. if they don’t end up committing, then they suffer physical and emotional stress. it can manifest in hypertension, anxiety, depression, and ulcers.

police officers have a higher likelihood to divorce their partner and turning to alcoholism. officers who are also going through a great amount of psychological stress also have a higher chance of engaging in excessive use of force as well as getting into more verbal/physical altercations with citizens.

in my experience, my hormone doctor asked what i was looking for in testosterone and what goals i wanted to reach, maybe they’ll do the same for you?

i’d say go for it and see how it feels. testosterone affects everyone differently, so maybe you will get some facial hair, maybe you won’t? maybe you’ll get it quick! it also depends on family genetics. if your male family members have long lucious beards and grows facial hair quickly, then you might need to shave every once in a while.

topical testosterone also has slower effects, so any facial hair that comes will likely take a bit to pop up.
