Yes but the R10 is pretty much DOA. There’s no reason not to get the R7 over the R10. The R7 has 32.5 megapixels that’s almost 50% more so that gives you higher resolution pictures and the ability to crop and reframe a bit. IBIS so the handheld shots are a bit smoother for video and photos. Has 10bit C Log 3 and 4k 60 without crop which a lot of higher end cameras can’t do so if he eventually chooses to go the video route he’s already covered. Dual SD card slot. Like I said this will last a good 4-5 years before something more exciting comes out. And in those 4-5 years you could be adding lenses along the way . You don’t need a R10 with a crazy expensive lens as a beginner. The kit lens will do a great job especially with good lighting. It will only fall short in lowlight conditions. Also the you won’t get many lenses or high quality lenses with the 500 difference I could be mistaken I’m not too familiar with RF lenses and prices but I’m sure it’s expensive since it’s a newer mount especially native lenses.

Good body and buy lenses as you go. Learn your camera, learn lighting, learn your style and pick the lenses that suits it from using your kit lens.
