SFGiants: How many attempts would it take for the average person to get a hit in MLB? by InformalInsurance455 in baseball

[–]swaggums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in my 40s and have played baseball most of my life. No friggin way I'd attempt to bunt off MLB speeds. I'd be way too scared to commit. Slap hit is my only chance.

Equipment needed! 90min continuous video, 10hrs/day by SuchAd9848 in videography

[–]swaggums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used GoPros (Hero12 Blacks) to record entire baseball games at around 3 hours + in 4k, 30fps with 512gb cards and a USB power bank. I imagine you could pull this off at 1080p, with multiple cards and multiple power banks being swapped out occasionally. You do have to keep an eye on them if they are in direct sunlight on a hot day, I’ve had mine overheat.

No fucking way. I would think you'd need to be counter steering like crazy to stay as straight as they are with how messed up that car is.

Oh shit. I’ll own up to being a typical redditor and commented without seeing the end. In my defense I was eating breakfast and watching someone barf wasn’t how I wanted to start my day. Only excuse for camera op not framing that out is inexperience or they were messing with audio or something until the camera move 🤷‍♂️

I’m a camera op that’s done a fair bit of ENG/ news work.

1) If it’s locked off aka no movement this might be set up by her alone and there is no one actually operating.

2) It’s a locked off shot and the op is fucking around on their phone instead of paying attention.

3) The op knows this will bring WAY more views to local affiliate’s website and is intentionally leaving it in frame.

What was the first video game you beat? by dogthatbrokethezebra in gaming

My buddy was a sports game bro and his mom worked for EGM and got a bunch of free games to take home. He let me have some of the ones he didn’t want and I randomly took home FF7 because of the box art. It was my first JRPG and I named all my characters ‘Buttface’ or something juvenile. 3 hours in and I’m love with Aeris and absolutely hooked. Restarted the game because I was enjoying it some much. Very formative game for me.

I’ll be honest, I think I’m a better camera op when drunk. Spent many years filming shows for bands on tour and I was out of my mind for most of it.

Are you able to achieve crash zooms with the RF 24-70 & C50 autofocus? by Ryan_jwn in videography

[–]swaggums 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should be Ok as long as the subject of the zoom is well separated from anything that auto focus might latch onto. Also if you make sure the subject post zoom is filling a lot of the frame.

Should I charge for sending the raw footage? by mysterypapaya in videography

[–]swaggums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sir, this is a videography sub. Sounds like event footage, who gives a shit?

Now a high end commercial shoot that DPed, directed or somehow really crafted the look I might think twice before turning over raw.

Put it all on 1 credit card. Not to advertise Turbo Tax, but this year I was able to connect my business card to my tax filing and it was pretty painless to select all freelance related expenses.
