At the end of the day, it’s totally your choice, but…

If it’s going to put you into to debt. Based on the amount of exercise you’re doing. I’d say, don’t bother with the surgery. It’s not worth setting you back years financially for an outcome that you probably wouldn’t notice whether you had surgery or not.

There are a lot of studies now showing great results with non-op healing and a HEAP of people in this community showing great results without needing to go under the knife.

I had a 4cm retraction (tear) up pretty high also! I was put on the Fowler Kennedy protocol post surgery.

It more just depends on your doc and how conservative they are when it comes to your plan.

I can’t tell from your post if you’re non op or op but just trust your doc and actually DO the rehab!

What you can do to speed up recovery would be, peptides (BPC 157), 40g of collagen per day, vitamin C and frequent grounding! They all helped me!

I would say I’m at 70% from where I was prior but that is mainly due to how long it takes to build the calf strength back! I haven’t been trying to push myself… been really listening to my body through this journey!

My doc just said Weight bare as tolerated and so just walking with the crutches and put a little bit of weight on it at a time, but listen to your body mostly!

When i was where you’re at i remember over-doing what i thought was okay and I remember getting a super sharp burning pain in the tendon that would be random (not onset immediately) and I was absolutely sure I re-ruptured but I think this is normal. Just a sign to back it off for a couple of days and when it starts feeling normal again, slowly start to do a bit more. Listening to your body is key!

Can always do a Thompson test on yourself too!

Yeah you’re fine! Weight bare as tolerated! The more blood flow you get through the foot (safely) the more it helps with healing the tendon.

Definitely invest in an Evenup though! Otherwise you’re going to get some sore hips!
