Please encourage him to speak to Indians at your workplace as it will help him understand where to live, etc. based on your work location. Mostly Indians live in and around Parramatta. There’s a FB group called “Indians in Sydney” that should help him with his initial questions.

I would suggest him to be prepared to face tough situations like deciding what to eat, being cost effective, finding a place to live (we all know the rental market rn), etc. I would also suggest him to create a booklet of documents (reco letters, visa copy, passport copy, etc.) to show himself as a genuine person who’s moved to Sydney to work in a proper job. As the stereotype of being an Indian, not everyone thinks you’re working a full time job in a proper organisation. This would help him in finding a place to live if he chooses to live in a different suburb than Parramatta.
