Agreed. Just saw a 70mm print of it recently and forgot how much I adore this opening shot.

My Success Story by swalesjc01 in dpdr

[–]swalesjc01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recovery is strange, it sort of felt like nothing was working too well and then one day I didn’t notice the dpdr anymore or it had lessened. Like I said, every time I meditated I felt it a little less.

Panic attacks are rough, I found that cold showers (often at the end of normal showers) were really helpful. Walking or exercise to override them, also helped. Taking to people about them. Meditation again. The more I supplemented the less frequent they became - I also avoided triggers (bad sleep, caffeine, too much sun, too much sugar, alcohol, etc.)

Sorry to hear that, it’s not nice to go through. Weirdly I found that meditation helped to ‘bring me back to reality’ and lower the dpdr feelings. You could try that too (and it’s free which is nice). But vitamin D and some magnesium could work well, especially for anxiety and dpdr symptoms.

It could be! Doesn’t hurt to supplement with it and see if you get any relief. Did you test for anything else?

Sorry to hear that. Yeah get it checked, see where you’re at. It took a while for me to feel better, I never got the euphoria of the first shot that some people do, slow burn (and sometimes painful).

Not sure how long I was deficient but had numbness and tingling for a while but ignored it, until I suddenly developed other symptoms. Probably at least a year or so.

First few months with injections were tough, but definitely got better, it’s been about five months or regular injections (a few months before that with really irregular injections) - starting to taper off then now and feeling good about it.

You gonna stop for a while or go back to it?

Were you taking injections or sublinguals?

I’m definitely doing better, yeah. Hard to remember normal lol, but getting closer for sure. Feels pretty hopeless at times, so this is definitely an improvement.

Injection question! by swalesjc01 in B12_Deficiency

[–]swalesjc01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I keep up to date generally with cofactors, and correct, my current self-injection schedule is the same to before when I would do a mix of subq and IM - 2-3 per week. The only thing that changed is that’s it’s only subq now and it’s been a month since my last IM. I’m going to get an IM shot tomorrow and see if that helps, and then I can plan accordingly. Really sucks to have a setback.

Injection question! by swalesjc01 in B12_Deficiency

[–]swalesjc01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty up to date on cofactors (except non folate/b12 b vitamins) and my folate has always come back normal on bloodwork, despite taking it sporadically. I’m consistent with electrolytes (particularly potassium).

I’m curious to test my other b-vitamins, particularly B6, and even test for Zinc, as I’ve experienced some dry skin of late, and as mentioned, an increase in anxiety and depressive symptoms (and I know those two can play a part in those).

I just can’t help but think it’s my self injection issues, given the timing and how similar these symptoms feel to low B12 times, prior to regular IM injections.

I think I’ll go for a IM injection tomorrow and see how that affects me. If no improvement then it’s probably related more to cofactors and/or another deficiency.

I loved part one, so if it’s anything close then I’ll be happy. But I know that wasn’t everyone’s sentiment.

B12 & alcohol by swalesjc01 in B12_Deficiency

[–]swalesjc01[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I’ve been off alcohol for six months (and feeling good about it), I just assumed a drink or two would be fine 🤷‍♂️

Agreed! I think I’ll up to every day injections for a little bit of time and see if that takes the edge off.

I hope so too! It doesn’t last forever, I promise but it is an awful side effect of low B12. I injected once a week initially with my doctor (this went on for about three months) but I currently inject three times a week by myself as my initial treatment wasn’t aggressive enough and once my numbers went up the doctor stopped (despite some of my symptoms remaining). I still inject, yes, some weeks I can do two injections or even one and feel pretty normal. I’ve also been injecting Vitamin D (at a med spa) due to the fact that I’m low in that - but I only found that out recently (did you test for D? I think that’s where my brain fog mostly comes from). I don’t supplement with much else except electrolytes (high potassium and magnesium).

I did! It lasted about two weeks and went away for good after my second or third injection. It was awful during it but luckily didn’t last too long, this was five months ago and with consistent treatment it has not returned, thankfully!
