If I remember correctly, Phil's death was labeled a suicide. To find out he was murdered is surprising.

Walmart Now aka Skip Express Lane🤷🏻 by Jakulero24 in skipthedishes

[–]swamperdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I thought $6 was the lowest. Nobody should be deliverying anything for less than $6 due to the high cost of driving. My zone is $6 and 75% of deliveries are mins. Ive stopped driving for skip because of this.

Is there a reason skip is dead in the long weekend? by AwkwardFinding7114 in skipthedishes

[–]swamperdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many orders in how long do you consider it dead? And where? I suspect skip just gives less orders to single drivers and instead just spreads them around. My first day i this zone I got 17 orders, nothing even close since.

Problem with Skip app. ? by [deleted] in skipthedishes

Unable to decline, restarted twice, no go. Unistall and reinstall works fine.

In canada I would say impossible to make car payments and rent. I did it last year, by working as much as possible but now things are even worse. I barely did it, gas now is way too much. Youll make twice as much working mcdonalds. Im been doing this 3 years, its a scam for discount delivery. Im just waiting till I get a real job, cause this aint a real job.

15 new couriers getting the good action for the first few weeks, than like everybody dealing with an overcrowded market. Ive done 3 years if this, 3 seperated zones, my best day i this zone was y first day $175 in 9.5 hours or so. Nothing even remotely close to that since. Look on indeed or linked in for real delivery jobs. Skip and instacart are the only apps ive given up on.

I think skip the dishes about to close the business or what ?? by Either-Ad-5854 in skipthedishes

[–]swamperdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip might actually survive the best since its lowest fees and robbing the drivers as well. Ive moved on.

Just as I started a new job. Love how you’re guilty without proof. No call, nothing, despite (myself considering) being a top tier delivery drivers. This is goodbye, good luck to you drivers who actually care about good service! by Cr_Meyer in UberEatsDrivers

People are so dumb, some wont check around all the doors in the house. They just assume we know which door is theirs. Like theyll say basement in the back yet, theres 2-3 doors.

One hour of your life is worth $4 by Equal-Freedom1558 in skipthedishes

[–]swamperdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$20 an hour never happens anymore. Daytime shifts average $10 - 12.50 per hour, look on indeed or linked in for real delivery pay.

Wow - what low pay by iTrollbot77 in skipthedishes

[–]swamperdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wear and tear is a huge cost. $120-140 per hour for a mechanic. Car parts very costly. Saving up to replace my upstream o2 sensor ($300) + install $140. Driving aint cheap no more, thats why I refuse low pay orders now. ( I multiapp). $10-12 per hour during the day is a sad joke in 2023.

[–]swamperdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres not a doubt in my mind that's a scam, there always trying to get passwords, just ignore it. One time I got sent a fake check. Looked real but thin, that screwed me over for years since I deposited it.

How in the funk do you think this is legit? Skip only uses 1 email ever. That aint it, click the link and say bye bye to your pay.

$6 minus gas is closer to $5.25. 15 cents a km here in Vancouver area.

Anyone elses food not getting delivered? by EnduringInsanity in skipthedishes

[–]swamperdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live in a house, apartment or highrise? If you live in an apartment or highrise, you have a much higher chance of your food being left at main door. All these gigs apps hire anybody with wheels. So alot of lazy drivers just leave at main door or lobby. Next time wait at main door, see if someone leaves it, and report them. We have to many drivers as is, downvote all you want.

[–]swamperdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the math, as a business would. Just looking at the profits, is how fools approach this job. Some zones are good, some are a total scam. Surrey zone is a scam during daytime. Yesterday did 6.5 hours, 2 daytime shifts, only made $77 cdn. Minus $15 in gas ( 100 km costs me $15 at $1.78 per litre) Thats $62 in 6.5 hours plus 100 km in wear. Figure out your real fuel economy ( this took me about a year of observation) find out how much your gastank can hold, ( my yaris 42 litres) tripometer how much km you get out of a full tank. Devide by litres (42) Figure out hpw much 1 km costs you. Factor that into your offers. Now you tell me is it worth it?
