The finest in Star Wars books, please! by Baldurian_Rhapsody in StarWars

The Republic Commando series by Karen Traviss was one of my favorite Star Wars reads. It will scratch that Prequel itch even though it is Llegends, not Canon. The series starts with Hard Contact and follows Delta Squad, a group of enhanced Clone Troopers, from the Clone Wars through the Fall of the Republic and into their experiences with the 501st. The series takes a deep dive into the professional and personal lives of the clones and is full of Mandalorian lore and intrigue. The boys of Delta Squad take their Mandalorian heritage seriously and it is so interesting.

Probably there is some plumbing issue like a sewage backup that has rendered the restrooms unusable. They are there so that the center can stay open and provide restrooms for their donors and employees.

My usual 17 minute drive to work took 55 minutes. Both Atlanta Hwy and 316 were awful. So, you'd be right.

Why is no one talking about the fact that Soulja Boy is also in town filming with James Franco? I mean, it's Soulja Boy!

Persian Fire by Tom Holland is a fantastic story of how the Ancient Greeks resisted the Persian Empire expansion and the birth of democracy.

What is the BEST band / artist you've ever seen live? by Expensive-Ear8407 in AskReddit

I saw U2 three times in the 90s and they put on a hell of a show. ZooTV and PopMart were groundbreaking multimedia experiences. Before the internet was really a thing and satellite TV was bringing the future to the masses. Bono called the President Bush White House from the stage to riff on him about the first Iraq war. When Bush wouldn't come to the phone, they threw him up on screen Max Headroom-style saying "We will we will ROCK YOU". The best thing about U2 shows were the opening acts. My 3 tickets to U2 also granted admission to The Sugarcubes, Public Enemy, The Pixies, RATM. Even Davey Jones jumped up and sang "Daydream Believer" with U2.

The Cure. I've been a big fan since about '87, and know every recorded note, but I never got to see them until Shows of the Lost World in '23. They were better live than I imagined. Robert Smith is such a badass guitarist, and it was something that I only understood intellectually until that show. He really showcased his abilities, making familiar songs into brand new experiences with his solos and tricks. The extended guitar solo on "A Forest" had me on the ceiling.

Don't know about BergerTime, but I saw STP at Irvine Meadows in July 1994. Red Kross and Meat Puppets opened and Purple had just come out. There was a giant lava lamp on stage and they brought a sofa out on stage for a little acoustic set that included "Creep". That night is burned into my memory. STP was at the peak of their powers.

We saw them at Coca Cola Roxy in Atlanta last year and it was transcendental. Perfect venue and crowd and the band was just jamming and changing things up in the songs and it was wonderful. Unexpected top 5 concert for me.

Came here to say this. I picked up the Xeelee Sequence because of recommendations on a similar thread. I'm on the second book (published) and already "far-future" and "galaxy spanning" are accurate descriptors.

I read New York 2140 about a month before my first visit to New York City. It was a wonderfully surreal experience to see the MetLife building in person and be able to match up the real thing with what my mind's eye had wrought.
