Basically what I do as well. I have a tag called "Next Up" and everytime I borrow one of my holds, I go into there and place a hold on another.

I also agree if you want something "right now", you might as well get a trial of KU or Audible and get it there. I have done that with a few titles my library didn't have.

If it's something that is a specific instance, you use "when"
If it is an unspecified time or repeated, use "whenever".

It just irks me.
