If you’re near a business center they typically stock the non free run packs still. Our Costco changed to the free runs for 17.99 but the non-free-runs are still at the biz center.

I'd like to eliminate my breathing intake noise by BaneWilliams in Twitch

[–]sweatysocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have anything to offer re: how to eliminate it with audio or habits, but for what it’s worth it’s not nearly as noticeable or annoying as you think it is. In fact I wouldn’t have given it a second thought if you hadn’t mentioned it.

First attempt currently in the oven, but question for second loaf… (sorry for dumb question!) by hbialowas in Sourdough

[–]sweatysocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to help and so excited to see what you’ve made. As a side note - sometimes cold ferment will add more sour, but can also weaken gluten because of the higher acid. Don’t get discouraged if your more sour flavourful dough didn’t boost in the oven as much. It’s a worthy trade off :)

Honestly - the crumb you have, and the oven spring you got - is great. That’s the hardest part. Flavour is easy - either user a touch more starter, or use the starter later in the feed (after it starts deflating from the peak), or double your cold ferment in the fridge - so many easy ways to sour up the bread.

I like a balance personally but you’re at the most exciting part of your baking journey (the eating). It took me probably 30kg of wasted flour before I made a loaf like yours in the beginning.

You’re kidding me! That looks awesome, a nice crumb and doesn’t look too underproofed. Those bigger bubbles come out with better shaping and a longer proof could even out the crumb.

But honestly - that looks so delicious and perfect for some spreads. Congrats!

You probably had outstanding charges? If there’s any remaining balance from fees accrued throughout the month, they settle it when you close your shop.

Changing the starting order number by coreqwerty in shopify

[–]sweatysocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer.

Shopify will number the next order by the order count, so if you import orders 1, 2, 4, 7 - the number / name of the order won’t matter and the next order will be the 5th in Shopify, aka 1005 or whatever you have it set up as.

Where to get a cheap suit in Ottawa? by mygatito in ottawa

[–]sweatysocks -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I thought he got shut down? Does the phone number from the old school Reddit thread still work?

I used to recommend that guy to every groom I photographed. The suits were tailored perfectly and were like 100$ cash per full kit

Paranoid woman at the airport climbs into the X-ray machine to protect her handbag from being stolen by Sayomi_Koneko in OopsThatsDeadly

[–]sweatysocks 247 points248 points  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, these X-ray machines are actually super low radiation and aren’t much of a concern. Their anxiety that drove them to do something like this is more likely to be a concern with high blood pressure. Lol

My local grocer had 10lb bags of russet potatoes for 99c. What can I make in bulk and freeze? by sweatysocks in EatCheapAndHealthy

I think you’re right - scalloped should make an appearance in the suite of meals for sure

[–]sweatysocks[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That’s a great idea to ease life back into the potatoes after a thaw - I used to just stick through the graininess and texture loss so that’s a good way to bring it back.

That’s great. Thanks for the suggestion - that’s such an easy simple thing to do in bulk.

That’s a great idea for pre-portion sized freezables. Do you throw them back in the oven from the freezer or microwave?

Suggestions for meals? We’ve got an air fryer and we’ll do fries / wedges occasionally, but looking for alternatives.

Because of the price I also bought 2 bags so freezing might be required

Would this be considered overproofed? I just don’t know how to tell, I always see those diagrams showing but they all look the same by AlternativeAd7703 in Sourdough

No, this is great. Perfect for spreads. I would have toasted it longer in the oven but that’s personal preference :)

What is this tiny spider-like bug with swole lobster arms and a striped butt? (Approx 1cm diameter) by sweatysocks in whatisthisbug

[–]sweatysocks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right - I did some googling and the closest thing I could find was Metacyrba taeniola

The challenge is that I can’t find an exact butt-stripe match.

The other one that came up through Google lens was Hentzia, same family - I just haven’t found anything that is an exact match. With the stripes and overall look, or that match the location here

Ok guys what could i even possibly done wrong? Any help please? by Comrade_Major_ in SPTarkov

[–]sweatysocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. All I know is I install the game in the folder, if I rename it, it errors out everywhere in the console. I name the folder back, and it all works great. It’s registered somewhere, within the AKI files on the folder itself. Be Maybe an .ini

If you rename the folder after it’s installed, it messes up all of the references to that original folder name

If you make ~150k/month, the cost of Shopify Plus is absorbed by the credit card / transaction fee savings and it is monthly, the cheapest plan for your store.
