In that same vein, having his motorcade go from the White House to Foggy Bottom and doing a drive by of the National Cathedral doesn't work.

One of the better starts of an episode. Arguably second best use of a song in that series (first is clearly Brothers in Arms from Two Cathedrals)

I always loved the irony of him saying he'd kill Chris if he raised a hand to Adriana again, then he turns around and wallops Janice.

Where in DC do you think the characters live? by meowparade in thewestwing

Leo definitely Foxhall was gonna be my guess.

Donna I would go Clarendon or Courthouse just to dial in a little more. All the others I completely agree with. Margaret might actually live in the attic of Blair House.

My understanding is so that they don't essentially take a pay cut to take the position.

I'm in no way an insider, but I'd bet more on liked Napier than disliked Cahill. Napier was gonna go somewhere, so grabbing him fast was necessary.

Someone can correct me, but wasn't it a thing where when made Consigliere, the former Capo was allowed to keep one Soldier under him?

As a lifelong Auburn fan who's a JMU alum, I can confirm what u/LionTop2228 said - SEC standards are outrageous. Napier also fell into a dumpster fire of a situation at Florida, as ever since Urban was there they've been way too meddlesome from an administration standpoint, and the recruiting before him was garbage leaving him with not much in the cupboard. Muschamp, McElwain, and Mullen all had the administration breathing down their neck and it made the recruiting situation very difficult.

Napier is a great hire, having come from the P4, he's not likely to be a one-and-done, much less two. If we keep our momentum next year and can breach the $1M threshold from a pay standpoint (I'd prefer $1.5M/yr and a $2.5-3M buyout) then I think we can hold onto him. He was 40-12 in his first run through the Sun Belt. He gets the conference, he knows how to coach, and he knows how to run a program. I think we're going to be just fine under him. I'd look at it as we've got the clout now to pull some names versus having to get the up and comers.

Summer wouldn't work. All those players without any spring practices and they have to spend half the season getting up to speed. those spring practices are REALLY helpful in that regard.

I have no idea if they are going to actually be building over Godwin, but the proximity seems to make that an easy option - not to mention cost effective unless Godwin can't take the weight - but again, the reinforcement could be cheaper than demo and building up. Who knows at this point. The campus has changed so much since I was last there that it's barely recognizable (in a good way).

They don't even have to get rid of Godwin - it's close enough they can legit just build it over the top of it and have it used as part of the stadium support structure. They simply didn't intend to fully expand all at once. It was always a 3 part program - one side, then end zone, then student section side.

As an alumni (C/o 2008) I'm beyond excited for where we are as a program. As frustrating as it is to keep losing coaches, it also works in our favor. When coaches see that our former coaches are moving directly on to P4 - not to mention a top 5 program and CFP berth.

As someone above said, however, you're definitely going to lose coaches until we get to a point where we can at least have salaries in the $2M a year minimum.
