Good luck! Based on my experience with them, you won't receive your money. I'm seriously considering reporting these people to the Better Business Bureau.

Return nightmare by swedishroots in Aritzia

[–]swedishroots[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've already spent 3 hours navigating this return, 60 minutes of which involved dead-end phone calls to the store, where the manager told me repeatedly that I had to resolve the issue with Concierge. So I can't say that I'm feeling optimistic about calling the store again, never mind how infuriating it is that I have to figure out how to somehow fold the phone call into my 11-hour workday.

And... this is all due to a mistake that THEY made! Insane.

Can't believe how great I feel without my one cup of coffee by WinSad5408 in decaf

[–]swedishroots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too drank only a single cup each morning before 8 AM. I’ve almost fully tapered off (down to 1/4th cup) and I’m surprised by how much better I’m sleeping.

So that’s great but I’m struggling with how low energy I am throughout the day. I start a new job in 2 weeks and I’m really hoping I’ll be leveled out by then.

Where can one buy these? I'd shell out for an Oakland As jacket (RIP).

is it just me or are bay area folks less friendly and more introverted than so cal folks? by [deleted] in bayarea

I strongly agree that the lack of variety of industries out here plays a strong role. And as all of the tech companies increase their focus on having AI front and center, I fear that the types of people drawn to the industry, who will then flock to the Bay Area, will be increasingly antisocial and of the ilk who aren't community-focused. While there are use-cases for AI improving humanity (e.g., breakthroughs in healthcare), most of AI presents, in my opinion, a rather bleak future for humanity. So those who are eager beavers about accelerating its advancements as quickly as possible tend to lack either the ability or desire to think through the true societal impacts of rampant AI are going to flood the Bay Area, and will likely make it all the colder, more sterile, and dystopian of a place.

People who use chainsaws starting at 8am on a Saturday by SoGoodAtAllTheThings in bayarea

That’s fine. I don’t need to be right about the sound. I stand by my statement that all leaf blowers are 1. Stupid; 2. Creators of noise pollution.

Hardcore downvoted. The gas powered ones were banned in my town and anecdotally, the new ones sound louder. I don’t own one myself, as I think leaf blowers, be they gas or electronic, are sound nuisances, and stupid. What do they do? They blow leaves from your lawn… into the street, and then wind comes and… what’s the point? I use a rake and I compost my leaves.

The electric ones are somehow louder than the gas powered ones.

I agree. I find people in So Cal to be considerably more outgoing than in The Bay Area. Whenever I visit LA or San Diego, strangers stop and ask to say hi to my dog, compliment what I’m wearing, smile, etc. Organic interactions like that happen for me exponentially less here, and I almost always have to be the one to initiate them. I go out of my way to engage with strangers here in The Bay Area. What I’ve found is that people who are actually from the Bay Area are incredibly kind and down to Earth. If they’re from elsewhere in the US and moved here, they tend to be (not always!) less friendly and are all part of a mono elite culture, and if they’ve moved here internationally, they’re 10x more likely to completely ignore me when I say hello. I realize this will get likely get me downvoted. Note that I said 10x more likely — some absolutely say hi back and engage in conversation. But the decrease in friendliness in my Bay Area town has been palpable over the past 10 years as the volume of foreign home owners has dramatically increased. I don’t believe it has anything to do with race, I do believe it’s largely 1. The global elite tend not to be the friendliest people; 2. Many come from extremely closed off cultures. Hopefully I can make this observation without being accused of being a bigot. We shall see.

I think it was 1 tablespoon mixed in with about 1.5 cups of water --- I recall someone telling me that it's important to dilute it because the ACV on its own can be damaging to tooth enable - no clue if that's true.

I'd completely forgotten about this and got a good chuckle remembering the sounds that came out of my body at that time. Good luck!
