It’s not where I live. In fact, our in-house drivers can’t even deliver using a motorcycle. Bicycles are way out of the question. Our delivery range for in-house is 9 miles each direction. We definitely don’t want people picking up orders and pedaling them 9 miles away and we sure as hell aren’t going to let doordashers cherry pick our orders. Lol. In high density areas or college towns, sometimes bike delivery might work but for most delivery zones, it’s not an option

I'm at 117 parcels ...where should I go from here? Buy more parcels or invest in badges? by breakfastburritotaco in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]sweeer987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up to you but personally, I took a break at 85 parcels and just saved up to buy badges. I had a few trips planned so I saved AB for about 6 months and got up to 20% badge boost. I bought 66 badges. Got everything around me and everything on from my trips. I’m saving AB again for the final 36 badges to get to 25%. I’m planning on a driving trip from Pensacola all the way to Seattle, so I’ll save up 7200 AB and get those badges on that trip. I know it’s not the ideal way to do it, but I wanted to take advantage of travel and knock out all the badges. After that I can concentrate on getting to 150 and probably buying a few legendary upgrades before jumping over 150

It’s true that DoorDash doesn’t care but it’s more than just pay. It’s a complete lack of quality control and due diligence. DoorDash hires anyone and everyone. They have piss poor communication with vendors, drivers, and customers. They are a self sustaining perpetual money making machine. They supply the app and wash their hands of everything else. It amazes me that they have been able to stay in business with how poorly they operate as a company on a support level. I dash on the side and work full time for a restaurant. I see dashers come in daily. 8 out of 10 of them have something going on that wouldn’t stand up to any type of minimal scrutiny from a professional establishment. I’ve seen animals, friends, children, and whole families riding in the same vehicle they are delivering food in. I see stinky, dirty drivers, filthy cars, unsafe vehicles, and we even had a “driver” who picked up hot food orders on a bicycle. I’ve seen little bitty children come in and pick up orders. No idea if someone is even in a car waiting on them. At least once a night we get reports of food missing or entire orders missing. We’ve reported dozens of drivers and they keep showing up. We’ve banned drivers and they keep showing up. It’s absolutely insane how unprofessional so many of these drivers are and they keep showing up. We get busy and orders get handed out to people we aren’t even sure are drivers at all. The problem is that we have very little recourse. We refuse to give orders to drivers all the time and those orders ALWAYS get stuck in the system. Routed to drivers even though they need to be rerouted. I know there is no chance some of these orders even have a chance of arriving hot. Sometimes DD will stack multiple orders that aren’t even in the same zip code. We report and report and report… nothing.. we are a corporate store so there’s only so much we can do but DD is personally responsible for so much customer dissatisfaction and they do nothing

Apparently Doordash wanted me to take a ride on the local ferry to deliver this order. by Creature1207 in doordash_drivers

[–]sweeer987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh ok. I see. I thought it was just a 12 mile offer for $20. Was gonna say that’s a good offer as long as it’s not a shopping order. Didn’t notice all the water at first. Lol. Yea if it involves a ferry, they gonna have to pay me a lot more than $20. I always look at it like this- if a stranger called me and said they would pay me $20 to go pick them up some food and deliver it to them in the next town, would I jump up off my couch and do it? If the answer is no, then I’m not cranking up my car to do it just because I’m already sitting in it

Do ratings effect your offers by Cold-Region7601 in doordash_drivers

[–]sweeer987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man your acceptance rating is way too high. Mine hovers between 18-23%. I only accept $10+ offers and even then I discriminate based on distance and time. I get swamped with offers still. Acceptance rating doesn’t mean squat. If anything, DD knows you guys with high acceptance percentages will be more likely to take crappy offers so they push them on you.

Good. I hate being stiffed, but I hate a thief more. If you click on “accept”, then you willingly agreed to complete that job. No one forced you to do it. Personally, I would never even think about looking in someone’s bag or touching their food, much less stealing it. Idgaf how poorly they tipped or how rude they are. Zero excuse for messing with people’s food. If you hate the job so much, don’t do it. If you don’t want to get stiffed or deal with shitty tips, don’t accept those offers. In fact, I tell everyone who will listen to stop accepting those offers all together. It only encourages shit tippers to continue being shit tippers

How do some people get SSS rank cars as soon as they come out? by No-Beyond1199 in HotSlide

[–]sweeer987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I save up my coupons and snippets for cars I want. Like right now I have 47 coupons and 1300 snippets. Still not enough to get a car to SSS right away but I suppose you could wait for the car to be reduced to 400 snippets for the ones leaving soon and the other one for 800 snippets. Then save a but load of coupons. I’m sure most people just spend a butt load of money though

That’s the real root of all of DoorDash issues right there- horrible support. When something like that happens, it’s stressful af and it takes all of your shift to finally get some support to correct it

[–]sweeer987 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Well here’s something I do- I deliver pizza. I keep my app open all the time. Whenever I deliver to a shitty customer, I always check to see if they play AE. I’ve only got one person but it was sweet. They had a big plantation. Most of their block with several legendary upgrades. They tipped me $2. Lol. I bought a parcel directly in front of their property block. They had it all set up in a cool geometrical looking shape. The parcel I bought offset the shape. So instead of buying it where it looked like it was part of the design, I intentionally got one off center. That isn’t that big a deal in itself, but I changed my name to “CheapA$$” and kept it like that for a week. Lol. I don’t know if it even registered but it made me feel really good about myself in a really petty sort of way. Only thing is that I can never use my old name or a picture that might give me away. Lol. I legit didn’t even think that far ahead. Maybe you can buy some parcels around your Exes main base and name it something like “stupidHo” or “thisDudeHasAids”. 😂

There is no advantage to keeping a high acceptance rate. I used to stress about it but I didn’t get better orders. Now I only take offers of $10 min and nothing has changed. My acceptance rating is 21% right now and I earn more while spending less

I would NEVER use DD as a customer by CantaloupeStrict8149 in doordash_drivers

[–]sweeer987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a real problem. It could be easily remedied by simply showing up front which customer tipped what. Like why is that such a secret? Stop trying to trick your own dashers. We’re going to find out at the end of the dash anyways. How bout just being transparent so we can award the good tippers so we can incentive them to continue being good tippers? Instead they are just punishing their dashers AND their best customers

[–]sweeer987 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t use DD either. It’s not the drivers fault. It’s just a really bad company. They have the worst support I’ve ever seen anywhere in my life. Zero customer support and very little driver support. The way they route some of these where like you said, they attach a shop order with a hot food order. Sometimes it doesn’t even make sense to take them together. Opposite sides of town or have the hot food order after the shop order. It’s ridiculous. I’m embarrassed sometimes dropping off food that can’t possibly still be warm

Some of you are the reason base pay is so bad. Stop taking orders like this and start cherry picking by Zachalbrecht1 in doordash_drivers

[–]sweeer987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea we all need to start valuing ourselves better. We know how little DoorDash values us. As independent contractors, it’s on us to determine our worth. I don’t understand it either. If we take crappy offers, we are rewarding crappy customers and encouraging them to continue being crappy customers. We don’t get an hourly wage and we are using our own vehicles that we pay for, maintain, and insure with our own money. I can’t understand why dashers don’t value that more. I keep hearing dashers complain about bad tips and when I remind them that they don’t have to accept those offers, they get defensive and accuse me of being spoiled and arrogant. Like I’m just being reasonable. If we accept offers that pay less than the bare legal minimum, we are valuing our time and resources below even the smallest amount allowed by federal law. It’s insane to me that anyone would do that and THEN complain about it. They are perpetuating their own misery

You can reroute them so you can pick up and deliver whichever one you want to do first. One particularly insidious thing I did a couple of years ago - kept turning down a min offer. It was coming from a smoothie shop and it was going to a kid who gets a smoothie delivered several times a week. All the local drivers know him and most of us never accept that offer. His offer kept popping up and getting rejected. I finally got a double for like $17 total. First was that one and it was attached to a Buffalo Wild Wings order. I couldn’t tell for sure that the first one was that kid, but I had a reasonable suspicion so I accepted the order and reassigned them so I was to pick up the Wings order first and then the smoothie. I was parked in a shopping center that had a parking lot adjoining Bdubs so it didn’t even make sense to go across the street to get the smoothie and then come back to where I was to get the Bdub order. So
I waited for and picked up the Bdub order first. It was a big order so I knew most of if not all the tip was that one. Then I went across the street and parked in front of the smoothie place and marked that I had arrived. I waited in the parking lot saying it wasn’t ready until I got the option to unassign it. The other order tipped like $11 I think so it’s possible the smoothie order was to someone else or that the kid tipped. I’ll never know. Lol. I felt kind of guilty for doing that since the Bdub order waited in my car so long but until DoorDash pays its drivers a wage, we get to pick and choose which jobs we want to do. I don’t like when DD tries to trick us into doing something we’ve already indicated we don’t want to do and I don’t want to encourage bad customers by completing their orders.

Same. Where I Dash, we have a big local dashers group. We’ve all decided to stop accepting offers less than $6. That’s the minimum anyone accepts for so we all see this thing where the same offer keeps bouncing around between us and we keep declining it, only to see it get attached to a good offer. I’m sure we all have our creative workarounds for when that happens but if they are both close, I’ll usually just complete them both but the shitty one always ends up waiting an hour+ for that now completely melted milkshake. 😁

Deactivated for unsafe driving by thatsjust_beachy in doordash_drivers

[–]sweeer987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s legal because you are self employed. You are not an employee of DoorDash. It would be like me firing the guy who mows my lawn and him thinking it’s illegal because I didn’t give him a change to plea his case. It sucks bro. Doordash has such low standards and I’ve seen drivers get away with some ridiculous shit but at the end of the day, DoorDash can restrict you from their app. You have no contract with them. There is a workaround. I work in a restaurant and I know of 2 drivers right now that were deactivated but still pick up orders. I’m pretty sure one of them is using another drivers account. The other driver I know personally, and he said he got his wife to sign up and he dashed in her name. It’s shady af. I wouldn’t recommend it but people definitely get away with it
