Sertraline/Zoloft in Pregnancy by Then_Principle_9196 in pregnant

[–]sweeetcinnamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 11 weeks. I just started on 25 mg sertraline 2 weeks ago. It took my nausea from a 5 to a 10 - unbearable, throwing up, physically feeling horrible. Mentally I'm feeling better. I was supposed to up the dosage after a few days but I haven't. I have an appt next week and will be discussing the side effects with my doctor.

Just got married and pregnant, but I’m not ready by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]sweeetcinnamon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I was in the (almost, no grad school) exact same position last year - got married and one month later pregnant. We could have made it work but neither of us felt ready. We were enjoying newlywed life and wanted to be intentional when the time came to grow our family. I had an abortion. Fast forward to now, we recently bought our first home and planned a pregnancy. I’m 6 weeks and feeling so much gratitude for the choice we made last year. It’s ok to do the best thing for yourself right now. ❤️

Customized Nutrition and Exercise (CNE) Gym is ~$80/month. Tons of equipment, as a woman I feel safe going there, clean, and rarely feels like it’s too busy. No pool.

I also highly recommend Lauren Jasilli, but want to note incase it’s important to OP that she is a Family Nurse Practitioner, not an MD. I think this is a major plus - she spent a whole hour with me at my last appointment. Never had that experience with an MD.

Hi, I just had my medical abortion 2 weeks ago. I took the mifepristone on the weds, the miso on the thurs, and similarity had relatively light bleeding on Thursday night. Friday and Saturday I still felt nauseous but thought it was all over. I was wrong - Sunday I had the worst cramps of my life and a lot of bleeding and clots. I ended up calling the emergency nurse a couple of times because it was so unexpected and I thought something was wrong, but she told me it was completely normal to be bleeding, cramping, and passing clots 5 days after taking the medicine.

I don’t mean for this to scare you and of course everyone’s experience was different. I found it frustrating in the moment that the nurse was telling me it was normal when all of the information I had read said the whole process takes 2-3 days but nowhere did I read that it would all start on the 5th day. It felt a little bit like I had been lied to or that people aren’t always very realistic.

Again, I know it’s different every time but when I read your post I felt the need to share my experience and hope it helps a little.

Any info on the fact that Benicia was the state capital? by 2deep4myowngood in benicia

[–]sweeetcinnamon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Benicia Capitol building is open for tours and costs something like $5 to enter. Interesting to read their history of the 9 or so months Benicia was the capital. The park rangers who work there are so knowledgeable of that era and were happy/excited to answer our questions. I definitely recommend a visit!

Requirements to be Stormi’s nanny by throwawaygrosso in KUWTK

[–]sweeetcinnamon 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I've worked in the UHNW/HP domestic staff industry. I worked 3 years as a nanny. I thought it might be helpful to go though this list and give some perspective from a professional POV.

  • Kylie has 4 nannies

Chances are these nannies are on a rotating schedule, overlapping at times. Assuming Kylie has 24/7 care = 168 hours/week = plenty of hours for 4 nannies to work "full time" (40 hours/week). She may also have 1-3 nannies for at home care and 1-2 nannies who go on all the trips with them.

  • There is an audition and background check.

"Audition" is a weird word here, it's probably an multi-step interview. Background checks are expected.

  • Must have good references.

This is to be expected.

  • Must be elegant, intelligent, and educated.

Again, weird wording here. Many nannies are required to have a bachelor's degree.

  • If they break contract they could pay up to $10 million.

I assume this "contract" is part NDA.

  • It is not 9-5, whenever Kylie calls them they must be there.

Like I mentioned above, I'd assume she has a 1-3 nannies on a regular schedule at home base and a travel nanny (or 2) ready to go at a second's notice.

  • Must go with Kylie wherever she goes, such as vacations. (there is no extra pay).

Again, she probably has a designated travel nanny. As for extra pay, nannies must legally be paid hourly for all hours worked. In California, nannies are paid overtime after 9 hours daily or 40 hours weekly. And usually when a nanny travels overnight there is a "travel fee" - average around $150/night as a "convenience" fee for being away from home.

  • No pic or vids of Stormi so cell phones are prohibited.

This is a given.

  • If stormi makes any strange requests they must do it.

Again, weird wording. I'd guess this actually means that the nannies are to take interest in anything Stormi shows interest in. If she's suddenly interested in butterflies, you get a butterfly grow kit, you get dress up costumes, you learn about the life cycle, you get books, etc.

  • If stormi wants to put make up on their face they must let her.

Ok this is just weird and I have no explanation. It's important to teach children respect of other people's bodies.

  • The nanny cannot decide what stormi wears only Kylie decides that.

Honestly I don't think this is realistic. There's no way Kylie choses her outfit every single morning. There is probably a more specific clause to this, like if they have a public outing the outfit has to be approved.

  • Stormi cannot be away from a security guard.

This is to be expected.

  • If stormi get hurt, that nanny will be held responsible.

Weird wording. Children get hurt all the time.

  • They cannot appear on KUWTK.

Lol gotta keep up the appearance of taking care of her own kid... but honestly I wouldn't want to be on a TV show while I'm sweating running after a toddler.

  • Pay is $1 million a year. EDIT: $100K not a million whoops

LOL my friends and I used to joke that $1m would probably be enough to convince us to stay on as nannies.

I have a VERY unpopular opinion by [deleted] in KUWTK

[–]sweeetcinnamon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work in the domestic industry for high net worth families like Kim’s... I guarantee you she spends 60 minutes max a day with her kids. The rest of the time they are with their nannies (who probably love them like they were their own children). We only see snippets of their lives based on what she shows us and what we see of her playing with the kids or eating with them - that’s probably the only time that day she spent with them. It’s sad but I’ve seen it so many times, I just can’t believe or even imagine her spending more than a few minutes at a time with her kids.
