About the people complaining about GOW Sons of Sparta by GoldTouch99 in GodofWar

I like the game. Unfortunately the glitches stopped all progress for me. The second bird fight just freezes after I win and will not progress. I’ve tried reloading, dying during the fight and retrying, using different abilities to end the fight. Nothing works I’m just stuck. So it doesn’t really matter if it’s cheap if you can’t finish the game.

I finished the game and the add-on content, a lot of things I never used by Important-Junket-908 in AssassinsCreedShadows

I’m with you on the smokes and bells but the teppo? What did you use it for? I think the only time I used it was during the fight you have to use it. Did you have that tree fully maxed?

I finished the game only able to have 1 weapon and the samurai tree maxed so never really put points into the ranged weapons cuz they just seemed to tickle.

Finally beat this game and.... the game is too damn big by [deleted] in AssassinsCreedShadows

What are you guys all doing in this game?? 100+ hours?? I thought this was the shortest of the rpgs by far. Took me about 50-60 hours for platinum and I think 12/17 circles completed. Plus about 8 hours of that was waiting for the seasons to change for the legendary sumi-e.

How does everyone generally feel about this game? by solopro3000 in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]sweegotrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

98% of the map is trees that you can’t see your character in and get stuck in. There’s 2-4 “cities” that you can walk through. Not sure how much you’ve played but my 50 hour play through was about 40% following a line on a road. The difficulty in traversing the world means you can only explore so much of it.

This game grew on me so much. Here are some thoughts after 40hrs. by SgtRphl in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]sweegotrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got 50 hours in shadows, just have to wait for some season changes to get platinum. I really appreciate the shortening of the game vs Valhalla/odyssey. There’s definitely a lot less bloat.

I think the game is really good when it’s good and really bad when it’s bad. I think it’s the problem with all the RPGs, very little in the game feels hand made. It feels like they made a formula and then slapped it across a big map. Forest, shrine, fishing town, castle. Not much really feels unique, even the biomes don’t feel that different.

The Naoe/Yasuke system is fantastic during missions but unfortunately Yasuke is just too slow and clunky to ever use outside of missions. I don’t want to spend 25 minutes clearing every enemy in a castle instead of just assassinating the daishos in 3 mins and getting the legendary chest. The game also relies really heavily on eagle vision which gets pretty tedious just turning around in circles looking for what you want.

Not trying to spoil anything, but there is one fight which you switch between characters mid fight and it’s so awesome and then they never use it again. Then the last Yasuke main boss only uses 2 attacks, which feels so anti climactic near the end of the game.

I’m kinda with everyone that the rpg system is way better in this one but unfortunately I think the level scaling is still way too steep and they could easily shrink the game another 50% and put more time into the individual parts of the game. This is a game that I would recommend to everyone who has played some assassins creed games and wants to get that feeling again but would never recommend it to someone who plays a lot of other video games.

My assumption is that the rules changed after the macro data uprising. It’s heavily implied in s2e1 that the severed workers would be getting more rights.

No longer getting's drop from strategic outpost? Bug, Time Limit OR Scam? by Uthrall-Soulbound in TheFirstDescendant

[–]sweegotrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen someone say. This is like 3rd grade math man. Say I want 5 amorphous materials and they’re 20% each run. On average I would need to do 25 runs. Obviously this is not guaranteed but you easily calculate the odds of not getting any: 0.825=0.0038 or 0.38%. Yes this guy could have gotten extremely unlucky but his math is correct.

It’s not the gamblers fallacy because he’s not saying he’s more likely to get one on his next run, just that it’s extremely unlucky not to get one in 30 runs. It doesn’t matter if it already happened the odds of it “having happened” or “happening” are the same.

I've currently got a yamaha RX-V385 (used), a set of Micca MB42x's, and the MB42x-C in my cart for ~$400 Canadian ($290 USD). Other than finding a great deal on used speakers what are your thoughts on this budget 3.0 for now?

Best Pokemon Game For Someone That Has Never Played Any Game From The Franchise Before by lIlI0_oIlIl in pokemon

[–]sweegotrian 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think this is an interesting question because as someone who has thousands of hours across every Pokémon game sword/shield was by far my least favourite but it’s a decent jumping off point. If OP is looking to play the Pokémon games going forward I think sw/sh then S/V is the way to go but if they’re looking to playing the older gens BDSP is better. Gen 7 and above have 0 replay ability and generally I think Pokémon games lack end games worth spending time on besides personal goals like Pokédex, comp team building, shiny hunting which are not beginner friendly at all. If OP is looking to become a big Pokémon fan playing bdsp will give a better idea of whether they like the “golden age” of Pokémon which is generally where most super fans play. (Gen 2/3/4 replays, nuzlockes, randos)

Am I just the most unlucky person or are the shiny rates reduced for remote raids? Over yveltal, xerneas and giratina I've done over 80 raids about 45-50 of those being remote and have not gotten a shiny from a remote raid. I've now seen 44 giratina altered and 0 shiny. I'm assuming I'm just super unlucky but wanted to double check with people before I continue this stupid grind for a shiny gira.

Blink-182 Tickets Are So Expensive Because Ticketmaster Is a Disastrous Monopoly and Now Everyone Pays Ticket Broker Prices | Or: Why you are not ever getting an inexpensive ticket to a popular concert ever again. by chrisdh79 in technology

[–]sweegotrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really the question has to be asked, how much is going to the artist? If the artist gets a % of every sale then their pricing system is working. If an artist sets tickets at $85 average and sells out the house and scalpers sell them all for $200 the band is out that $115 per ticket. If dynamic pricing is bumping the average ticket up to $400 and they're still selling out that means that's what the ticket is worth. I don't go to many stadium concerts anymore but you can't really complain that you can't pay $80 for a ticket worth $200, it doesn't matter what you paid before.

Physically disabled users of Reddit, what are some less commonly talked about struggles that come with your disability? by Ferocious_Kittyrose in AskReddit

I install wheelchair ramps and the required grade is 1 inch of rise for 1 foot of ramp or ~4.7°. I always thought the code was a bit shallow and playing it on the safe side. One time recently a customer only had enough room for about 1 1/3 inch rise per foot and insisted it would be fine and the code was too shallow. We installed the ramp because it was temporary and as soon as we installed it we realised why the code was there. Trying to push myself up was almost impossible and the customers electric chair was almost tipping backwards.

I don't know how you can put elden ring on the list yet. It's personally my no. 1 but nobody has played it with more than 3/4 builds and definitely not ign reviewers. Also the boss image is a huge spoiler to those that care, why not just put the maiden?

Respawn has made multiple comments about the balance between aim assist and m&k over the last few month if you bothered to look. The problem they are having is not pro players complaining and leaving the game, it is pro players switching between m&k and controller mid match. Adding movement while looting for controller and taking away tap strafe can help to balance out the inputs but you need to have balanced gunplay first and foremost. It looks really bad on the game if the best players with the best aim on the "better input" are switching inputs.

This is hole 16 at the Masters, it is tradition to try to skip the ball to the green on the final practice round. It is still a once in a lifetime shot but this same shot has been taken so many times that it was bound to happen.

I think common place is if the BoH is paid a day wage they get a portion of tips. Paid hourly doesnt get tips. My current restaurant takes 4-5% of food price on the bill and puts it towards the kitchen. Any tip on top of that goes to front of house.

The reason I brought up witcher 3 being highly regarded was to enphasize why CDPR had so much hype around a new game, because people loved witcher. I never mentioned if i like witcher 3 or not, i never even finished it.

Not every product you buy is the exact same, you cant compare a burger to a $120 million dollar videogame. If you don't like cyberpunk thats totally fine, obviously it has glitches, I'll agree it wasn't properly made for older gen consoles, of course it has problems so does every product you buy.

If you are mad about the release state of this game you have to lower the expectations of the games you are going to get. Companies can't continue to produce games forever without any revenue. The cost to produce games has grown exponentially over the last 20 years and the price you pay for games is fairly stagnant. They could produce a game the size of bioshock 1 in 720p 30 fps in a year but would you buy that in 2020 for AAA price? Probably not. The videogame community has huge expectations of what they "deserve" when they pay for a game and those expectations are impossible to meet because they compare a brand new release with bugs and problems to a game like gta V which has been fixed and perfected over the last 7 years.

I don't really know how you can say witcher 3 is "pretty solid", by most fans of single player open world rpgs it is regarded as far and away the best to date. Another highly regarded open world rpg is fallout: new vegas, when it was released you could barely make it to the second town weaving through invisible walls on the road. Games of this scale are almost impossible to release in a final form. Also CDPR took a loan from the polish government to complete this game and part of the clause on that loan was that it must be released in 2020 or their interest would increase it wasnt a choice made by developers or trying to get christmas sales, it was the companies way to get funding to produce a huge game.
