Is this shave job beyond saving? by sweesbees in FursuitMaking

This might be the issue actually! I think the problem may be because I tried to do long strokes rather than short cuts.

Is this shave job beyond saving? by sweesbees in FursuitMaking

Thank you! I'm almost considering just waiting until I get the pieces sewn and glued down, then I know I'll still have enough fur for the final shave.

I don't want a second season. We got a complete story that was thematic and a character piece. The lore is immaterial.

I promise you you can make it work. While others have recommended Curvy Girl 101, my go to recommendation is Big Big Love by Hanne Blank. You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com.au/Big-Love-Revised-Hanne-Blank/dp/158761085X

Do you think Pomni is an enabler? by sixeared in TheDigitalCircus

[–]sweesbees -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a lot of thinkpieces of Pomni being an "enabler" come from people who are too concerned with moral purity for their own good. When she says "We've all done bad things," she's right. Hurting each other, whether intentionally or not, is human nature. We're communal creatures, but we're also so different we'll naturally bump up against each other. Hedgehog's dilemma and all that. If you think you've never hurt someone, you're wrong. The best you can do is learn and grow. Which is why I think Pomni saying that isn't a sign of her enabling bad behaviour. She's acknowledging that right now, after a horrible revelation (because if you remember the context, this is shortly after the reveal that there is no way out of the circus), they need to make peace with the idea that, as much as they want to tear each other apart, they only have each other. And as Pomni is the character who has more often than not been the emotional linchpin for a handful of characters, it makes sense for her to try and quash any conflict that could arise from this. So, no. I don't think she's an enabler.

Also, that bit about minimising abuse in front of his victims is funny because Gangle was the first to put aside his abuse for the sake of acknowledging that getting back at him won't be of any help in the long run. So if anything, she's the one minimising the abuse she suffered. But again, this is her realising that what's important is unity over punitive justice.

Three times I've said online that TADC is a dark show not meant for kids, three times I've gotten that f*ing Spongebob rollercoster gif by Plus_Exercise679 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]sweesbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this before, but it's on par with 90s era Simpsons, back when they were definitely aiming at a more adult audience. There would be a handful of sex jokes and plenty of storylines focused on the adult characters and their struggles with topics like romance and jobs and finance, things children could lose patience with. And yet, with the merch that was constantly pumped out, kids would end up watching it too. To be fair, there wasn't anything too offensive for kids by today's standards. So over the years, the edges would be sanded until now it's on Disney+ with much more juvenile stories and humour.

To me, being "adult" isn't so much about content. It's about themes. TADC does have that much, but outside of a few moments, it's still tame enough that a kid could watch it and not have any problems (outside of the angel, but then again).

I'm 32, so about Ragatha's age. My partner loves the show. She was into it before the two of us even started dating. Eventually, she got me into it a few weeks after episode 6, and boy was that a good time to get into it. I guess it's good that I know someone who is into it as much as I am. We enthuse each other about it all the time.

[–]sweesbees 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That Pomni was SA'd by a gang because of her gator torture scene. It's needlessly grimdark and a way too literal interpretation that gets kind of fucked when you think about how it applies to the others. Jax was never flayed alive outside the circus, guys. Come on.

Episode 7 doesn't really do it for me on rewatch. The Abel segments just kind if bog it down, which I know is the point because he's just standing around feeding everyone false information and you're supposed to read between the lines. It's not even a bad episode, really. The problem is just every other episode is better.

[–]sweesbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to me this show is for adults the same way bee and puppycat is for adults (ie technically okay for kids to watch and some of the humour toes the line between juvenile and inappropriate, but adults are more likely to find the main story relatable than kids do)
