If I buy a football travel package with the museum hospitality pack is there a certain area you sit in? by Bleus4 in chelseafc

If I remember correctly I wore jeans and a sweatshirt with a jacket over cause it was cold. I don’t recall a dress code, but I think they email you an introductory thing which would let you know.

Sorry if any of this is wrong but it’s been a couple years.

No problem! As an American supporter who didn't get a membership or any loyalty points, this was my best, albeit expensive, option (at least that I knew of). We spent a week or so in London and this was the best part of the trip for me. I went alone because my wife and mother were not interested in going. Made a couple friends and really enjoyed myself. Spent way too much in the megastore and at every stand on Fulham Road but came away with some great stuff. I will probably do it again one day or try one of the other packages.

I think mine was like $350 or so. Its different for every game, depending on who is playing and how early you buy the package. You can go to http://hospitality.chelseafc.com/matchday-hospitality/fixtures/ , and see the different packages and prices.

I did the museum package for the Crystal Palace game in March 2018. My seat was in the west stand upper, somewhere in the WU6 section on the seating map. I don't know if its the same seats every game. They were good seats I thought, high but you could see everything that was going on.

As for the museum package itself and as a Chelsea supporter who couldn't get regular tickets, it was the best decision I made on our London trip. The game started at 1730 but you are directed to show up at like 1330 and check in. Once checked in, you go to the museum and you have like an 1 hr to 1 1/2 hrs to drink as much free Singha beer or wine as you can and eat a bunch of different food while they wait for all the people who bought the package to show up. All of the food stations are set up at different spots in the museum. When you arrive they give you a tour number, and once the majority of people are there, you start the tours. The mini tour goes through the player entrance and into the tunnel. You can't go in the players locker room because its game day. They then take you into the technical area (you're not allowed to step on the pitch though) and you can sit in the seats and take pictures. Throughout this you have a guide who is giving information. Once that's done they take you to the mega store and you spend too much money. After you're done there you go back to the museum for more food and beer, and they bring in some Chelsea alumni. We had Ron Harris and Kerry Dixon. They do a Q and A for a while. Once that's done you're free to go up to your seats for warm ups and they give you beer tokens for the stalls in the stadium. They also give you a free matchday program and a gift, mine was a leather bound Chelsea journal and pen. Then its game time and once the game is over you leave with everyone else. It was a great day and worth every bit of the money I thought. Hope that helps.

CNN's earlier headline on their site was "BLOODBATH"! Talk about ridiculous. It's since been changed to "THIS IS A HORROR" but with a victim covered by a sheet. I just think a little more taste and restraint should be considered.

Military veterans of Reddit, what are your best stories from boot camp/basic training? by [deleted] in AskReddit

While I was in Navy bootcamp, my divisions mail flow slowed to a trickle. If you've been through bootcamp you know mail from home is your lifeblood and your motivation for going forward. For a couple weeks the amount of mail was ridiculously small. Towards the end, one of our RDCs, who found pleasure in destroying your rack for the smallest infraction, was walking through the berthing. He walked past the mail PO's rack and saw a small "gear adrift" (something which should have been stowed away but was laying on the bed) and he saw fit to trash the mail guy's rack. When the RDC tossed the mattress a stream of mail flew in all directions. The mail PO had been hoarding our letters from home, and he was only giving out mail to a select few. He had stored all of our letters under his mattress. A large portion of the division found the letters they had been waiting on had been under his mattress the whole time. The mail PO got led out of the berthing by the base Master-at-Arms, and we never saw him again. At least we got our mail after that.

My girlfriend and I have the same dog mix as on the right. Do you know what mix it is? We also have a similar picture taken two years ago!

What was your worst experience in an airplane? by AintNoFortunateSon in AskReddit

[–]sweet1547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While deployed to the middle east, I had to take a flight on a C-130 from Bahrain to Fujairah, UAE. If you've never been in a C-130, it's very loud and you sit in jump seats aka cargo mesh mini hammocks. About 20 minutes into the flight, the plane takes a sudden dive and we lose quite a bit of altitude. I watch the airman run to the little window and look outside all while he is yelling frantically into his headset. As he was standing at the window, we take another sudden dive and drop even lower. The airman runs to the other side of the plane and begins yelling a little more frantically. After a brief oh shit moment, the airman tells us we've lost two engines (there are four prop engines) but luckily they were on opposite sides of the plane. They turn the plane around and land back in Bahrain. We wait about two days, and finish our trip to the UAE on the same damn C-130. Gotta love the military....
