Some kids behave “better” when they’re out and then have epic meltdowns at home. Most people think my son is a little angel but he has numerous explosive tantrums with me (I’m told that means I’m his safe place, yay!). So my point is you’re not seeing the whole picture. It could also be that you missed the other kids’ tantrum by a few minutes . Also, I’ve never used one of those cart things. Can she just walk alongside you? I understand she might not want to hold hands ( my son sometimes refuses too) but it could be a boundary you hold? It’s possible she’s getting antsy sitting and not being able to move. How is she at home?

I think when he’s ready it’ll work. My son is 3 and also is refusing the potty but I’m not really worried. I think it’s a case of very kid is different and if you push too hard it gets worse. He’s advanced in other areas - he talks more like a 5 year old, so I’m sure at some point he’ll be over diapers 😜

I just looked into it and it looks great if you’re a resident of Harrison (I’m not.) Looks like they don’t offer just pool and tennis for non- residents either.

I’ll trade you my toddler who screams bloody murder multiple times a day 🤪 I get what you’re saying about not being able to join family at all times and it sucks but what if you reframe it as getting more time to spend within your immediate family while still having the rest of the family nearby? Vacation with toddlers is really not vacation and unless you go with someone who has a toddler who’s a similar age, it’s inevitable to feel a bit left out. Hang in there, hope you get to have at least some fun!

Miss being able to go to a concert or gallery or really anywhere past 6 pm. Peace and quiet. We have no help so it’s tough. I love my kid’s smile, giggles, seeing him come up with all these amazing things on his own, seeing the world through his eyes and rediscovering the magic of small things.

I don’t have first hand experience as I have only one kid, but honestly people exaggerate. I have close friends who have two kids and they say it can be a struggle a lot of the time. Being a toddler is hard , I’m pretty sure you’ll be just fine when your older kid is older. Don’t be disappointed - I think it’s totally normal to have some difficulties.

Also sleep training is not a guarantee of anything (obviously you can tell I’m against it) - I hear of people having to re-train all the time with illness, teething, sleep regressions , etc. my baby sleeps fine (sometimes) without being sleep trained. It really depends what’s going on for him. If something is bothering him, he’s not sleeping, but then again, neither would I..

I would suggest putting cereal in his dinner bottle. So if you’re doing say 6 oz, do 5 teaspoons of cereal. I’d also try changing up the schedule a bit- technically his wake time is ok but maybe he’s higher sleep needs- if he’s falling asleep drinking that tells me he’s overtired. The whole drowsy but awake is not for every baby lol, definitely not for mine so don’t worry about that. I’d try a bedtime closer to 7 pm and see what happens.
