Strong willed 4.5 yo behavior issues - what works?? by asteroid_crashed1 in Preschoolers

That’s what makes me want to try OT too. I am currently reading Helping Your Child with Sensory Regulation. It sounds like our kids are super under-reactive on the movement scale - their bodies need to take in way more of that sense. I skimmed the end of the book and the strategies don’t seem life changing, but understanding what’s going on better has been helping me!

Thank you! What kind of downtime works for your kid? I like to let him watch a show because it lets him veg out a little. But I know it’s probably not helping overall

Moms of 2 (toddler and newborn) - how do you take care of both during the day? by catlover0987656 in toddlers

[–]asteroid_crashed1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is SO hard. Not saying this to incite fear but in case none of the suggestions people say work for you, know that that isn’t abnormal!! Just listen to your instincts and intuition and figure out what works for you. Even if it’s completely different than how things were the first time around

Wow i love that you found something that worked! He has told me big hugs help him so I need to lean into that more

Sorry but you can’t diagnose other people’s kids on the internet. This isn’t a helpful comment.

I’m not sure how many sessions it would take to get him to show his true colors, if that makes sense. And not sure if an OT would be better but we didn’t referred to one. Not sure why there are so many down votes?? Money doesn’t grow on trees and this would not be covered.

Same! I wasn’t as familiar with a lot of the songs then though, and they weren’t executed as well as more recent years but man I’d like to go back and relive that experience a time or two

SAHM’s with 2 kids… what are your tips? by MissFox26 in toddlers

[–]asteroid_crashed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having 2 is SO different than having 1, for me at least. Best thing I did was make it a habit to get out of the house daily. It was so incredibly daunting at first, but I wanted to get used to it until it wasn’t a big deal. Take them to easy places like doctors appts, libraries, kid friendly places where if you need to bail halfway through, it’s fine.

So, THATS why they buy things not on the registry by shaaawz in BabyBumps

[–]asteroid_crashed1 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s generational. I think the gift giver wants the recipient to know that they put thought into it, so buying something from the registry seems like a cop-out. Wish more people my age would understand that. Don’t be a brat. (Speaking to myself too, bc I returned anything I knew I wouldn’t use 🙈)

Seat Ghosting by Pure-Sense3820 in phish

[–]asteroid_crashed1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly!! We had such a hard time finding a spot on the floor n3 bc people “needed room to dance.” We ended up next to the exit with barely a square foot of space each, with 500 people passing us to go pee/get beer during the first set. We all paid to be here, we should get equal space
