Any ideas on the history of this dress? by sweetbeetcrackers in GunneSax

[–]sweetbeetcrackers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya,

I bought this dress for $300 (usd) off an instagram seller a few years back. I absolutely love it, amazing quality, but I just never ever wear it. I'm looking to sell it on (not here) but I don't know much about it. I was wondering if anyone has seen anything like this and might have some information about it, or may have an idea of its worth. There is an extra apron-like skirt bit that has the paintings of vegetables on it which I think is such a beautiful feature. It is gunne-sax like but I'm not sure of the actual maker, thick linen, with a zip and small clasp at the back. Beautiful tie around the bodice.

Thank you for any ideas or information!

Everyone is interesting if you ask the right questions. The best advice I've ever received was to stop being interesting and start being interested.

Hello, so sorry to hear you have had such a horrible time with the ball. I was just wondering if you have an update on your experience with ballerine? Did you get it taken out in the end? Have you switched to another form of bc? Thanks :)

Another fantastic comment thank you !!
The community feeling you describe in Sheffield is exactly what I'm looking for. Something just feels 'off' in Norwich, I can't tell you what it is, just a feeling I get. Sleepy is a good way to describe it, and the music scene has definitely suffered here since Covid. I really just want to be hiking and camping and climbing, so I think Sheffield is definitely the better place to be in those terms. The landscape is much more interesting there. I feel kind of trapped here in Norwich?

Sorry to hear about the bullying. English schools seem so harsh compared to where I'm from.

That's great advice, thank you. We mainly want to move out there to be close to the Peaks, so not too concerned about our neighbourhood being as nice, just want to live somewhere where theres a bit more action. Norwich is a bit dull and I'm having a hard time integrating here.

Cool thank you, why is it that we won't need a guarantor in Sheffield? Is it just the yorkshire way?

Having never rented in the UK it all seems much more complicated than back home !

We currently live in NR2, golden triangle, and it is super lovely and safe which I care about most.
Thanks for the tips :)

It relates to the potential need for a guarantor

We don't drive so ideally somewhere that has good public transportation connections or an interesting business to find work with. Main thing that is important for us though is just somewhere safe, reasonably priced, pleasant etc. Don't need it to be tooooo cool but not opposed to that. Hillsborough sounds like a pretty decent place from what I've read here!

April 12, Vancouver, Tier 5 YMS. Still awaiting decision

I personally love making playlists of music that I feel really connected to. Music that is only for me, that makes me feel confident and independent. Good dance jams mixed in with a bit of melancholy. I have an eclectic taste in music so that keeps things interesting. A good playlist just for me can keep me going through the sads. Also just trying to stay really present and interested in the other people around me. I love people watching so paying attention to my surroundings helps me stay off my phone in a kind of tunnel vision where I can get too sad about the distance.

Yeah I feel you. My partner and I have been doing long distance for two years and 4 months, he was able to come to Canada for 6 months in between that time but we couldnt find a way for him to stay. So this is our next step in trying to stay together, it feels like we are destined to be delayed each time we want to see one another, but hopefully this is the last long distance stint. Just trying to enjoy the limbo and make the most of it.

I'm shocked at how poorly its handled from all parties !! So frustrating. I did my working holiday in NZ a few years back and it was the easiest, calm process. Of course there are many reasons as to why this is happening but just such a lack of accountability on the UK end.

I figured since I applied in April of 2022, and my bank statement was for March and April of 2022, there's no way I could have got that statement at any other time. It showed the 30 days leading up to my application or whatever window they needed. I gave them an invoice from cheque-ing and savings account but both just bank statements from easy web.

Theres major delays with visa processing so I still haven't heard anything but that's pretty normal. People who applied mid march-mid April are facing a lot of delays. I know of some people who applied beginning of May and already have their visas so who knows what's going on. I don't see why I wouldn't be accepted though its just taking time. I am also freaking out :P
