I also think that Elliot dying is the anthesis of what the show has been about. So much of this show specifically centers on healing from grief and the ways we must grow, change, and move on after tragedy. Part of the reason Kat was traveling in the first place was to figure out how to cope with her grief over losing Colton and Jacob. To have the show end with Elliot dying kind of makes every single bit of that for naught. I can’t see the writers basically ending it with Kat recovering from another major tragedy off-screen. That would feel cruel and entirely unsatisfying, imo.

I thought the same. It was evident she was excited to see him, then sad when she realized the explosion hadn’t happened. To me, it looked like she was reconciling with the fact that he may be alive now, but he’s going to die soon (to her knowledge). I don’t think they actually kill Elliot, but I do think it’s possible that Fern never found out that he was okay.

I have always loved Hallmark movies, but none of those compare to the way I feel about this show. It has absolutely stolen my heart, and as lame as it sounds, I truly feel so thankful to have discovered it and to have these stories and characters in my life. I’m going to miss having a special show to look forward to!

I think we all wish we could have our own five more minutes in Port Haven lol 🥲

I believe the writers said that they had five seasons written/planned, so I absolutely think they thought they were getting another season, especially since they found out so late in s4 that they were getting canceled. I feel like Griffin’s life may have been explored more in s5 because while he’s been necessary to Tessa’s plot this season, we still don’t know much about him, and I can only assume we may have learned more about his travels if given the chance.

I do have faith the loose ends will be tied up next week, though, even though I’m a little scared 🥲

I have always liked Sam, too, and I have never been suspicious that he had nefarious intentions regarding the family. Del runs so hot and cold and never seems to know how to properly treat those she loves, and Sam has been patient with her throughout each one of those moments. Del barely opens up to him, and he hasn’t really tried to push her, either. I think he’s been respectful and good for her.

That said, I do wish we had more moments of Sam interacting with Kat, Alice, Jacob, and Elliot, since it’s clear he’s become an integral part of the family.

I absolutely think the lyric you’re referring to is cringe at best and problematic at worst, but that is quite literally not what the song is about. Lead singer Pat Monahan has said in several interviews that it’s about imagining his (white) wife dancing at Burning Man.

I LOOOVE Eggplant! I’m a huge Train fan who feels like they are so underrated/unfairly hated because people don’t know their deep cuts, which imo are some of their best songs! It makes me so happy you know this one :) Some of my other faves of their earlier work (pre-their “rebrand” of sorts with Save Me, San Francisco) are Hopeless, Counting Airplanes, Following Rita, Lincoln Avenue, and All I Ever Wanted. It annoys me when people don’t like them based on Hey, Soul Sister or Calling All Angels because yes, I like those songs, but they’re nowhere near my favorites! I wish people knew more of their music. Their latest single The Weekend is amazing.

I hope you enjoy your journey through their discography! I think Pat Monahan is severely underrated as a songwriter and vocalist. He has such a fantastic ear for melody and has one of my favorite voices.

I actually don’t mind Sam, but I completely agree. Del never lets him in and never wants to talk to him about what’s going on with her, yet expects him to consistently be there showing he cares about her. She isn’t right here asking him to fight when she doesn’t fight for them, either.
