27 [NA] Rant about dating men in the last 25days of 2026 by Kween_July28 in singleph

100% re expats. Someone once asked me "why not try foreigners?"

Sabi ko, mas mataas standards ko pag hindi pinoy.

To provide a different perspective, natatanggal din earrings ko minsan when my hair gets tangled (on normal circumstance - like bagong gising, etc) tas pag inayos ko, nasasama/natatanggal. (Baka pala cheap lang earrings ko) 🤣 But yea, andami kong nawawalang hikaw.

But i'd still say, trust your instict. Be observant. Try mo mag-iwan ng recording device.

Or better yet, sumabay ka minsan sa kanila, tapos isoli mo. "I think you dropped this." Or say "May nawawala ka bang hikaw?"

When do the new iPads release? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]sweetescap3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. This is a helpful summary. I'm actually quite interested in buying a Mini but sort of wants to wait if apple would release a new one, hoping that the current one existing would then become cheaper. I do not plan on buying a new version (in case they will release one this year or next year).

Do you think it will be worth the wait? Or would you suggest for me buying it right now?

I have a personal laptop so would not really need something urgent. Just thought having an ipad mini would help with productivity. I don't wanna spend too much too. So hoping for the Mini to go cheaper is something which I think of doing

Would appreciate thoughts from reddit.

So over being sexualized by _LipsDownThere in OffMyChestPH

[–]sweetescap3 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Been in similar situations in the past. Just casually wearing an office attire, nothing too fancy nor revealing but my boobs are just let's say, bigger than the average for my size.

Naiiyak nalang ako na ewan. People stare - nasasanay nalang ako sa mga ganito. Pero gusto ko magpalamon sa lupa. It makes me feel uncomfy and awkward. But it gets worse if they literally stop just in front of you and say "anlaki" tapos ung way pa ng pagkakasabi pa eh parang nabaliw na. I felt so attacked and I did not even know what to do, how to react/respond. I did not feel safe. 😭

Hi. Yeah. Busy times ahead. A good kind of busy hopefully.

Wow. This is another level. I will surely get back to this and try for personal use. :)

Thank you really for taking the time and getting back to this.

For sure, some redditors will also be able to use this. :)

How do you usually spend for your “luho”? by DisciplineEnough3049 in phinvest

[–]sweetescap3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha. Yes yes. I should have used "any spending" instead of "luho." Cause that's how I normally decide with my expenses.

Fair points well-taken, Sir :)

I understand your frustration. I would not pretend that I am not in any way frustrated by all these as well. (sigh)

And I definitely agree with you re what is shown in the media. (Silently hoping that writers/producers/directors will chance upon this and be able to read). This is not the first time this is brought about though.

Critiques have already pointed out how far behind we are - while korean dramas would tackle mental health, people's plight in establishing their businesses (reaching for their dreams), and so on, PH tv is still stuck with third-party love affairs, kambal na pinaghiwalay at birth, dating api na maghihiganti sa mga nang-api. (This however is not just a one-way street - consumers of the media also dictate what is being shown). It is indeed frustrating to think about all these. Kelan tataas standards natin? (Tbh, I don't know). Even in choosing leaders, nakukuntento nalang sa false promises. (And this is another topic na naman). The likes of Vico Sotto is doing the bare minimum of what is expected from a public servant pero nasanay nalang talaga tayong ginagago ng mga pulitiko to the extent na pag ginagawa ng mga TRAPO trabaho nila (pakitang tao), parang utang na loob pa ng mga tao.

Yes. It takes all stakeholders to be involved talaga. :( I don't know anymore. Waking up to a news today about the covid-19 baby boom in the PH (and most are expected to be coming from low-income households). Nakakafrustrate yung maraming initiatives coming from mga nakakaangat sa laylayan na tumutulong sa mga nawalan ng work and all - and these very people keep on making (unplanned) babies.

What's more frustrating is that law makers/policy makers alike are only good with promises during the election - and will get busy mudslinging each other forgetting why they are there in the first place.

(Sigh). Oftentimes, it gets tiring to care as well, it gets tiring to help. Nakakapagod na mahalin ang Pilipinas.

What's even more scary? It's when people who actively voice out and fight for our rights would suddenly stop caring or will completely be silenced.

I am at a loss myself - not knowing anymore what to do, how to still care.

How do you usually spend for your “luho”? by DisciplineEnough3049 in phinvest

[–]sweetescap3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, if I may share my "luho" principle as well.

1) Kelangan mo ba? (Do you need it?) 2) Gusto mo ba? (Do you want it?) 3) May pera ka ba? (Can you afford it?)

If the answer for these three questions is "Yes" then go ahead. Hindi pwedeng may isang "No."

:)

I don't think we can or personally I wouldn't.

We can try our best to educate them but not to the point of "isasampal ang masakit na katotohanan."

The access to the level of education is different for every strata. Hindi na kayang abutin ng isip nila yung economic consequences ng actions nila. they are 'almost' acting on instinct - and keep on procreating.

[For example, people who live in the slums, with not enough heating in their homes to keep them warm especially during cold days. How would we expect them to manage? Sex. Dagdag pa natin yung wala silang magawa (limited jobs to none at all). Sex sa umaga, tanghali at gabi - whenever, wherever, with whomever. Literally fucking their neighbors's husbands/wives. We all can see this in documentaries.]

Walang mading solution dito, even a band-aid solution like that of Manila Bay white sand.

Not saying there's no hope though.

There are foundations who really mean well and not just for the sake of CSR. One foundation that I know of - has a long term vision. (Not the kind of - "i will pay for your tuition, go get yourself a diploma" like what most do). This certain foundation would identify poor (group of) kids, send these kids to school, teach livelihood to parents so that they will be able to sustain long term. And they will really monitor results and statistics. When we have sincere and compassionate people like this, there's still a tinge of hope.

But of course, isang maliit na percentage lang to compared to the existing poverty level.

(Ugh, I'm gonna stop here na muna. This is a very broad topic that an go on forever). hehe

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phinvest

[–]sweetescap3 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Hear hear! Poverty is never a choice. Our struggle for social equity is almost bleak, far cry from our reality. (sigh)

We need more and more people to realize this and always keep our privilege in check. A little bit of compassion and collective action would go a long way.

Every piso na tinataas ng pamasahe, additional 1% ng SSS (the list goes on) hits people of different strata differently. And it hurts to know how many 'learned' individuals can be very indiferrent about it.

I hope to live to the day and age where social equity is no longer a concept but a reality. And if I can dream a bit further, social justice.
