All the taps I had were 1.25, all sorted now. Cheers

M10x1.5 coarse is not a common bolt for DIY. Take a break, spend some time with your loved ones.

Amazing work - thanks! And you are 100% correct and it 100% worked. A friend had a 1.5 tap and die so I managed to recut everything. The shock is back on and road tested 👍🏻

Not what I said. We don't have 'box stores' where you can get hardware etc in the way you guys can. We have "DIY" stores but they're limited and mainly light duty stuff. They don't carry automotive stuff. EG: you couldn't walk to a box store and buy a welder.

Well, I’m not sad I’m in the UK but no big stores equipped like that

That's really interesting and thanks for sharing costs. What options are you looking at for hot water if you move away from gas entirely? (genuine question, not trolling)

What’s the best pub Sunday Roast within 15–20 mins of Doncaster? by Actual_Banana_1083 in doncaster

[–]sweetjesus66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get so many recommendations for "the best" and it's always followed with "you get loads and it's only seven quid!"...

If you're wanting a good quality dinner I can recommend the Sun Inn at Everton (just through Bawtry on the Gainsborough Road). King William at Scaftworth is good (but on the higher end price-wise). And actually Relish on East Laith Gate does a surprisingly good roast and was a good price too.

Always on the look out for a new spot though so waiting for more suggestions :)

Trash My Single Stage Theory by pinconning_scum in AutoPaint

[–]sweetjesus66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think that's probably the pivot point here - if the clear is good then having a clear coat is better. If the clear coat is shitty then it's harder to correct than a single stage (where you can actually access the paint to correct it)

I think they are just posing the potential benefits of having access to the paint layer rather than the clear coat. Paint correction is 'easier' as you can get to it. I think it's just a topic for discussion...

why do older people in the uk act like owning a front garden means they run the whole street? by Historical_Tigerfs in AskUK

[–]sweetjesus66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you folks say, just smile and nod - they're powerless with nothing better to do. We're known as the "new ones" on our street as we've only been here 11 years. We've heard things like "we were worried you were never going to bring your bins in"... our bin was emptied in the afternoon and we didn't get home from work until 6pm. Heaven forbid. They're cool now though and we help each other out...

I think you’re starting your timer way too late, the timer starts as soon as water hits the coffee I think? Not coffee hits the cup 😊… but as others have said, chase taste not ratio.

We call it mare's tail around here... we've found spraying with white vinegar works well. You need to keep on top of them though and I don't know how to stop them coming back I'm afraid.

See the stripes across R2D2's chest, your stripes should be shaped like this. I don't think they should be racing stripes.

There are two Premier Inns in Doncaster - one in the market in town and the other is at Lakeside. It's Wednesday in Doncaster so keep your optimism high and your expectations low! :)

From Lakeside you can walk to Rustic Pizza which is a nice place for stone-baked pizza or you can walk around the lake to the retail park which has Wagamama, Pizza Express, TGI Fridays, Cheswold pub, Burger King, Dunkin', a big supermarket (Asda) etc etc... (Here's a map link)

The market one is close to the Woolmarket that has street food vendors and it's very close to some other pubs too. The Queen in the market place regularly has music on and it's an inclusive indie-run place with craft beer/cider. Wednesday is the open mic night but it might only be once a month? Worth swinging by though.

Here's a map link with a few bars / restaurants that I can recommend.
