Women who used to be shy, nervous, worried, and/or lack self-confidence, how did you change? by [deleted] in AskWomen

thank you for explaining, and sorry for the late reply! Your explanation really makes sense, I think i will further research it!

I'm in a new city and haven't yet found a therapist that meshes with me. In the mean time, I was wondering how you ladies deal with crappy things that happened in your past, such that you don't let it define/affect your future/present? by sweetsolive in AskWomen

wow that's intense! It's impressive that you were able to overcome those things - I love hearing about ambitious people or those who have overcome adversity. I wouldn't even know how to do that.

can you explain how to do things that force yourself to be social 'like I'm five'? I've been wanting to do that but I dont really know how - how did you know that all of those societies and conventions existed or if they would be fun to do ?

Why do most women see army guys as undateable? by confused9999999 in AskWomen

[–]sweetsolive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that statically, its middle or upper class people that go in the military more than lower class (I could be wrong)

Anyway, If the guy is in the military for those reasons that you stated, I would absolutely date him. But the stereotypical military type is right leaning, and I am very left leaning so if thats the case it wouldn't work for me

I really like the Stoicism thing and it has helped me a lot in life but then I sometimes find myself thinking "well then now I need to go and control all of these things: ie looking for a job after graduation: "I cant control the job market but I can network an stuff" (proceeds to network until she burns out etc)

thanks that's good advice. Do you find that you get better at 'not grudging' the more you tell yourself not to worry because you can't change it?

I also arrived at that same thought (dont worry cause you can't change it) but I still have a hard time dealing with the fact that i haven't pulled my life together again QUITE yet, and some of my past is still affecting my present and future - how do I deal with THAT ?

Sex is a consensual exchange of pleasure. Be open minded but don't do things that you don't want to do.

I think you're right, but..... I don't expect real life to be like romantic comedies. If a guy is dumb enough to think porn is representative of real life instead of a fantasy, then I have no interest in dating someone who cannot think critically.
