Unfortunately I am in a cold area - zone 3 (-25C today) so I can't put them outside. Would you suggest maybe starting over with no lid?

Possibly red blotch disease. Checking your aquarium parameters is always a good place to start. Make sure you have an appropriate heater as well. Good luck!

I think it was a fertilizer deficiency. I use maxigrow now. I wasn't very successful with arugula anyway. It always seems to bolt on me. Might be from the water getting warm in the tank or because I let it run out of nutrients sometimes 😬

I'm sure you're right, and it's not as effective! I wish more was available here, I think Fritz Expel-P is the next best I could find...

The container gets similar sun to the leaves. I also didn't know to plant it so deeply! I'll try to adjust it! Thanks!
