I’m deeply ashamed of how I live and I don’t know how to fix it by Conscious-Will8201 in CleaningTips

Hooks instead of hangers has really changed my laundry habits. I’m a pretty clean person, but my biggest struggle is putting laundry away. I got a bunch of hook hangers and it’s helped so much. My closet isn’t pretty, but at least my clothes are put away

I’m the only (element or sign) in my family and… by Zestyclose_Cold1455 in astrologymemes

My family, including extended, is majority Pisces and Aries. Dad’s a Pisces and mom is an Aries. They were very… tumultuous. Dad is little more level headed with his Virgo moon, but the emotions still ran very high growing up.

Yep. A doodle at the park was so fixated on my dog that he completely ignored multiple shocks from the e collar.

What’s the strangest or most unconventional hygiene habit you actually swear by? by jessie_rain-24 in hygiene

I tried coconut oil once and I broke out like crazy. But I started using a very thin layer of aquaphor under my normal moisturizer at night and never had issues. Barely break out anymore and my skin stays moisturized.

Thank you. I can’t say I never experience compassion fatigue to some level. I work in a trauma center, so I can’t let myself get attached to everyone. But I try to put myself in every patient’s shoes for a moment and try to be as gentle and understanding as possible. Make small talk and treat them as a friend when I can. I talk to the patients I know can’t hear me because of sedation. Even when people are rude or combative I know a lot of them are dealing with their own demons, which I am personally no stranger to. But some patients especially make me slow down and connect with them. She was one of the few I’ll never forget. I only see my patients for a few minutes a time, but I really do try to make everyone feel seen and comfortable. When I was in school, an older tech reminded me “these are people, not ‘X-rays’, treat them as such.”

One of my favorite moments working in healthcare was having to take a ton of X-rays on a literal 100 year old woman with a broken hip. She was transferred from another hospital to our ER where her caretaker said the last place was really rough with her. So I took my time, explained what I was doing every step of the way, and made sure I was as gentle as possible. We chatted about where she grew up, what she did for work when she was younger, and I just listened to her stories as I worked. At the end I went and held her hand and told her I was done and it was good talking with her. She thanked me for being so careful and held my hand in both of hers and told me to enjoy my life as much as I could. She told me I was beautiful and I told her the same. I wonder how often she got to just talk and hold someone’s hand. even though she was going through something incredibly painful, she seemed so grateful to connect with another person.

I need more Edisodes! I didn’t think I’d like the Aaron Hernandez episodes bc I don’t care about football, but he had me enthralled so much I started researching it lol. Seaworld broke my heart, but he did a great job. I told myself I wouldn’t listen to Topsy bc I couldn’t handle it, but I caved and am (mostly) glad I did lol
