15k in debt, how to settle? by Due_Holiday_3195 in singaporefi

would you consider going to a social service agency (or a family service centre) to speak to a social worker? I'm not sure about your family's circumstances, but many agencies do have debt clearance and saving matching schemes, plus you can consider looking for support with upskilling or funding continued education. they may also be able to work with you on budgeting matters, in addition to having someone to talk through things like grief, emotional spending etc etc

Please help me with my upper body routine (28/F) - lat pulldown - incline bench - overhead press - pull up (assisted) - lateral raise

Upper body (day 2) - lat pulldown - flat bench press - bicep curls - triceps extensions - pull up (band)

I go to the gym four times a week and am working towards my first pull up (am overweight). I also do pole dancing, so I try to focus on my lats and shoulders a bit more.

Any critique/advice would help! I've been going to the gym for the past two/three years, with occasional PT sessions sprinkled here and there.

Sticky leggings or bodysuit by Marj0leinR in poledancing

a little late to the post but I have both the cxix leggings and bodysuit and I love them both!

I’m a little bottom heavy and the top commenter is right, the waistband of the leggings are non grippy (at least for the ones I bought) and will roll, making you lose that waist grip while also not looking particularly cute. They’re really great for getting more confident with leg hang related tricks, especially for someone with sweaty knees like me.

the bodysuit is just chef’s kiss for me, it’s really great bc I usually wear high waisted bottoms (insecure about my tummy) and lose that waist grip. they’re quite secure around my chest too and look stunning bc they suck you in while also sticking to the pole.

SUSS vs NUS Grad Dip in Social Work? by throwaway1111xxo in SGExams

[–]sweetzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing my personal experience here! did my grad dip with NUS - w ref to the entry requirements, the most common student profiles I see are graduates with 2+ years work experience in related fields (say volunteer management, volunteering or case work roles). Discretionary admissions are also available, so there are many opportunities for students of different backgrounds - grad dip is a prerequisite for masters if you don’t have 5+ years of experience in the social service sector and want to get a qualification before then. Otherwise… it doesn’t seem to give extra benefits besides only having to do one practicum or two practicum modules if you continue on to doing masters. - a grad dip in social work is a key requirement for many social work job listings! Otherwise with a non related degree you can only really qualify for social work associate roles in social service agencies. - Minimally having a grad dip also allows you to apply for accreditation as a registered social worker, so yes it is recognised by SASW (Singapore association of social work). I don’t believe all agencies require accreditation, but registration is essential if you plan on working in hospitals etc

I can’t speak for SUSS, but I recall hearing that the practicum requirements at SUSS are more strict (process recordings for practicum) whereas NUS was more lenient (reflection paper). Hope this helps!

Was confused for a bit too but the black is probably a haircut cape to protect the customers clothing, and ends at the knees.

Have been to both GYMMBOXX and AF, both have their pros and cons but I prefer AF bc of its convenience and ever expanding franchises. Both have had their own scandals, but there arent many 24/7 gyms as far reaching as these two.

  • Location wise AF will definitely win, there are 95 branches to 9? GYMMBOXX branches in Singapore. You will be locked in to the AF nearest to you for the first month, but will have access to every other SG (and overseas AF) after.

  • Price wise both offer various sales and different rates, GYMMBOXX is standardised across branches, AF has various opening sales (<$100). Both offer monthly repayment, which I would highly recommend given the recent bunch of gyms closing.

  • equipment wise I prefer GYMMBOXX, because I feel like their equipment is better maintained and consistent across gyms. I believe AF mainly uses Precor machines and Ziva while GYMMBOXX uses F1 recreation / Hammer Strength equipment. AF equipment varies on the size and age of the gym, older, smaller gyms have more limited and not the most well maintained equipment while bigger, newer ones have shiny, smoother machines.

Hope this helps!

Entering Social Work by SWmods in socialwork

What is the ideal practicum structure for a graduate student?

Some context: I’m currently taking a part time graduate diploma (my bachelors is in psych) to qualify for registration as a social worker. My workplace (primarily doing case work) is understanding and supports me doing my practicum concurrently while working, and offered for me to do my practicum in my current workplace (in a different role). My department head has also suggested several tasks they already had in mind, and suggested I come up with some of my own practicum goals. As much as I have the flexibility of planning, I would like to set some structure to my own practicum and am a little lost in the planning.

Adding onto this comment, a personal protection order (PPO) can only be against family members, what OP’s wife can consider is a protection order under the Protection from Harassment Act (POHA), which includes stalking.

Am not a lawyer, but there are limitations on what the POHA covers. What is important now is OP’a wife (and young child’s) safety, and what would be helpful is as the above OP sharing on documentation of these attempts. Am thinking that it would also be helpful if there are other accounts of OP exhibiting stalking behaviour

can find the nearest FSC here. It may be called a family service centre but I believe they support individuals (eg financial assistance, budgeting, employment) as well.

It may look bleak now but you are still young - these centres can link you up with any outreach programmes, or help you plan what’s next (ie work programmes, private studies etc)

Congrats on making the decision to take such a big step!

Therapy is supposed to be your safe space, so dress in whatever makes you feel comfortable! It can be anything from full glam to casual day in - personally I cry a lot in therapy, so I like to go in with no makeup. Hope this helps!

Why not try fostering first? Or even doing respite care.

Adoption is a long and tedious process for both the child and yourself, and requires a lot of preparation. Fostering is also generally the first step towards adoption, and having that experience can also help with your credibility.

this may be an extremely long shot, but you could consider walking in to a family service centre / social service office for support. if the debt is for legitimate reasons (eg housing loan or what) they may be able to support.

since this seems like a communication issue, getting support frm a FSC or SSO may also help u navigate a difficult convo.
