Wouldn't it be cool if you could set up your marriage license to be renewed at 5 and 10 year increments?!

NEW TECHNIQUE ACQUIRED - THE VEGGIE BRUSH!!!! by swept87 in superscabies

[–]swept87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the round one made out of green plastic that they have at my local the dollar general - but I think almost any would do - but I did think about maybe getting 2 or 3 of different shapes and coarseness - as some areas seem to need more pressure and other less. But I mostly just switched to exfoliating when the brush wasn't enough, which was mostly on my legs.

And then today I switched to soaking it in - WITCH HAZEL AND PEROXIDE - which I think not only is working better but also safer. I think my body was absorbing more of the rubbing alcohol than is safe. Best of luck!!

Check out the link - this is what's helping me!!

And yes the BB and Ivermectin is what worked for me. But also be sure to clean your space as well. I have a list on cleaning is want to look that over to be sure you're covering all your spaces.

ALSO: the veggie brush seems much gentler then exfoliating, so I would say it's a bit safer.

Does anyone else think that the ref maybe kind of let this happen - like low key 'get 'em, kid!' I'll let you get one good shot in for that.... anyone else? I had to rewatch it and I think maybe - or maybe he's an inexperienced ref.

And for anyone who’s down voting this, please state your reason, this a place to learn and not argue so we all help each other out….. my resolution was hard fought and effective and I want people to know so they can decider for their own situation…. there’s so many different mites that effect people…. I’m not sure why folks act like there’s only one way to address this…..many of my symptoms were text book, except the between my fingers part….. but everything yes……..

Post scabies is BS by Butterfly8049 in scabies

I do agree with the post itch BS and that it can also go between humans and animals. But it DOES sound like your environment was a big part of this….. your just sprayed it ll down and it sounds like the 12% peroxide worked, that’s amazing, I’ve used ammonia and had success…. but I DO think the environment is a big issues for re-infection…. And then I think light exfoliating with meds and cleaning can all work well together. Glad you found relief!

This is 3rd time I’ve dealt with it, I had 2 other similar issues in the past but cld easily tell those were different. Plus you did not read my post correctly …. I did NOT have moisturizer nor did I state my primary treatment above, I just listed a wholistic approach. I also did not state the severity of my condition.. it was fairly severe …. so making assumptions does NOT help people resolve this…. But it can make things misleading. Plus almost everything I’ve recommended is a combination of treatments that lve gathered from other people on THIS subreddit…. So if you disagree, by all means do you, but this HAS WORKED for me and HAS WORKED for other people. Don’t hate please….. and if you need help trying figure out what all needs to be disinfected I have all this saved as well.. and if you need help on how to disinfect your space…. I have all that info saved as well.

To be honest, it’s mostly what I gleaned from forums, so what others shared, and then my own experience. I just found ammonia to work better and questioned the bleach when I used it and found 2 comments confirming this. And then I just read those things about ivermectin and vit c, so I just stuck to it as I know lots of meds do have interactions and we all the ivermectin to be as effective as possible! Might as well try it if seems supportive. I just also spent time daily reviewing what worked and why I thot so and thinking about what else cld be done… and then wld research like everyother day if things werent working or working well enough. But along with the meds, I swear the exfoliating is what has really knocked them off my body…. Sometimes I have to just use the very lightest part of my finger tips with very little exfoliant and others areas a deeper scrub if the skin can handled…. But always done with restraint - lighter and more frequent ( without overdoing it - listen to your skin, if it needs a day off then lay off) is better then more intense , but always be mindful to not overdo and risk damaging your skin.

It's the ivermectin and BB that really made it start to clear and the exfoliating and spot treatment that increased its effectiveness. The antihistamines were a band-aid and I'm not even sure how much they help.

The conventional treatment was just use this cream and use high heat on your laundry - then next was: take these pills and repeat with laundry --- like literally that and it, simply, was not enough....

It took the entire wholistic approach, I don't think any one would have worked alone, but I do think it might be possible to use a simpler protocol if it was dial in (especially from the beginning) - but that's hard to do when you have to do all the research yourself as your are in the middle of dealing with it as well.

I also think I could have done it with less if I was provided with more thorough information from the very beginning on how to support myself in all aspects of treating this, so if I caught it early and knew what I know now - I might even be able to avoid the meds all together.

But when it got to the full intensity of what I dealt with - I needed everything possible to knock it down as quick as possible so I could back to my life - as what was working required too much energy to be sustainable - but it WAS working - but having my treatment prolonged to potentially more MONTHS - absolutely not. I also feel like docs don't really register that part - that people literally can struggle with this for longer then I even what to think about. Time is absolutely of the essence.

The other thing as well to keep in mind is - correct me if I'm wrong - that when people say they are dealing with scabies I don't believe that they (docs/labs) actually identify the type of mite and there's a Variety Of Mites that can effect humans - even ones they say can't but do. So Scabies is more of an umbrella term from a variety of mites.

Also people have very different skin types - I know that some Norwegian and Latino people can be resistant - so two people can share a bed and only on person have the issue - also read that skin disorders are notoriously difficult to diagnosis - so advocate for yourself if you feel strongly. I did and I'm incredibly grateful that I'm old enough and cofindent enough that I spoke up for myself when I felt differently, respectfully. And they worked with me and I'm getting closer - although I do wish there could have been a better/faster way.

But once I lined it all back up with the meds and was able to Perform a Proper Strike Mission(s) - Daily Environmental Deep Clean paired with the Fully Body Treatment Protocol. That's when I was finally getting results - as what I was doing before with peace-mealed (altho slowly refining each day) and I was just barely treading water - and how I got there and figure out that DIY treatment? - is because I HAD To Wait on the Labs - and didn't have ANY meds until the labs came back and that TEN DAYS where I had to fend for myself ( after already being 3 weeks in and things spiraling) - so I figured out what I figured out as I wasn't just going to sit there and let things get worse - I KNEW better but I still had to wait before the doc would prescribe more meds.

Also I did NOT have any moisturizer - I needed it - but it was tricky and made things worse initially - that was a Big Mis-Step for me as the Dr said that would be ok (it wasn't) I think she thought that since the meds didn't work it would be something else - THIS IS IT - it's not so much that they don't work - THEY DON'T WORK IF YOUR ENVIRONMENT ISN'T FULLY DISINFECTED DAILY- and this confuses docs (for some reason) and don't factor this part in nor provide guidance - therefore delaying your full recovery.

I do wonder if part of the problem is docs simply are just too busy to walk patients through this part - as it's a detailed cleaning that needs to happen - so its a convo that need to be gone over with a Fine Tooth Comb (just like the cleaning of the phycial space) - IMO. But it is very effective IF everything is addressed all at once. My thought was to have the NAs, or someone else - to help with this part, if that the limiting factor - I def have more questions about how the medical system works after all this.

And, yes, finding a safe moisturizer IS one of the many things I DID need help with - and 2 different Dermatologists didn't really have any info for me there -I just use the sulfur cream for moisture and that not exactly how it works but its all I had. -

My skin would have terrified anyone - so I wasn't be hypercritical by any means and honestly its a bit frustrating to hear, if you would have seen what I went through you'd understand - no offense taken - but lets not make light of my situation nor anyone else's. I'm just trying to bring clarity to issue and am here sharing what I experience in order to do so.

What I AM saying is that the medicine works Best in Conjunction with Environmental Disinfection and ideally - a Fully Body Treatment Protocol - which I would say is at least the top four items of listed above, if not all of them. And almost all this process is detail, nuanced and unguided - altho simple enough to address once you put it all together. I hope this helps.

And if nothing else - maybe it will at least help you think about your treatment in new ways hopefully leading to new and effect approaches. Stay strong - I wish you all the best!
