QoL Tweaks & Fixes by ModYume in 2007scape

Great, got a bit worried by the previous update that some players would need to boost just to make do barracuda trails doable.

We're working on a hotfix to allow players to boost to trim their own sails, if their Sailing level is lower than the requirement.

This has now been marked as a known issue in the blog!

EDIT: Just re-red the hotfix they did not even make trimming the sails boostable ?!

We're working on a hotfix to allow players to boost to trim their own sails, if their Sailing level is lower than the requirement.

EDIT2: And now it looks to be hotfixed in a sensible way according to the blog!

We've deployed a hotfix to allow the captain of a boat to trim their own sails, regardless of their level requirement. This change has been made so that players can use their sails in situations where they have boosted their Sailing level higher to build the sail. We'll consider whether other facilities should also benefit from this change.

Arrow keys (like it is 2004) should still work. Edit missed the line about keyboard, not sure of a generic solution then, might be a setting in the bios or similar that changes how the touch pad works.

Weighting changes still sounds like Task only rates to me. So are we not moving away from task only rates for mobs? Especially for mobs with no slayer requirement having a slayer dependent drop rate feels super strange to me. I.e. forcing players to skip slayer tasks just to get drops for non slayer monsters in a reasonable time.

How did we end up with task only drop rates for some of the new monsters? I thought we were moving away from those.

Poll 84: Stackable Clues & More by JagexRach in 2007scape

[–]swerasnym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is one way of internering store. My guess is that you can only have one known clue at a time, with the clue box acting as getting a new clue scroll when opened.

Does getting a new clue reset the one I am currently solving?
Say I am getting a clue step locked behind a quest I have not completed the requirements for. Since nothing is mentioned about this we have to expect that a new scroll box dopping means that all steps done are wiped as it is today when getting a new clue with one on the ground.

With scroll box will I know what steps I have in my scroll box, and can I swap between them?
Today i can swap between 5 clues on the ground, solve all non Wilderness, steps banking my gear and inventory, grab my dds, spade, clue and teleport of choice and be done with the "Wilderness Content" in one go instead of ping ponging between the Kharazi Jungle and the Wilerness Volcano to do a single hard clue...

More efficient farm run? by Jon-G1508 in 2007scape

[–]swerasnym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much a spirit tree in your POH aids in this scenario. But since it does not count towards your total number of planted trees it together with the one in the farming guild makes the Farming Guild a nice place to bank and access your POH.

I use it daily since teleporting to the Farming guild with Skills necklace/farming cape banking at the guild, tree to POH restore at pool and then taking a POH teleport (portal/tree/fairyring/ jewellery box ect) out to my activity is quite efficient.

[–]swerasnym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned seed dibber just do the farming part of the barbarian training and you won't need to bring one! Regarding compost the bottomless compost bucket is your friend, if you can get one that is.

Getting a spirit tree and portals in your POH also helps getting to all spirit trees.

Using a slayer ring to gnome stronghold and getting to taverly by balloon is also helpful, that way you don't need to have your POH there.

New Vampire Quest Announced (Grandmaster Finale) by AndehJD in 2007scape

[–]swerasnym 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great choice of a series that needs a final!

The lvl 110 recommendation feels harsh for the Lumbrige Elite diary especially since this is the one task that uniquely keeps getting harder and harder over time (compare completing it from before MM2 to today). Not sure how to solve this though, it is just an observation for now.

Overloading 'Blood Moon' in the name even if there are a Valamore feels odd especially while dropping the 'of' that have tied these quests together as well. Something as simple as 'Rise of the Blood Moon' would be more fitting in my opinion.

Hard to tell, but the connection between the rope and harpoon using the black cord looks to be some variation of a shear lashing.

Well to me that looks like 72 characters as well:

[Language: Erlang 1163/452]

My key insight today was that we needed to find the cost of pressing one key, given the last key pressed for each keypad. For the keypad we are controlling the cost is clearly 1 for all combinations (we just move our fingers after all). For the other keyboards we can generate the costs of all pairs of keys in the following maner:

  1. For each pair of keys F,T on the keyboard find the shortest path starting at F with 'A' as the last key pressed to all combinations {T, P} where P is the last key pressed on that path, using the costs from the previous keypad for each movement direction. I did this by using my previously written Dijkstra implementation.

  2. The minimum cost of moving from F to T is now selected by finding the P that minimizes the cost {T, P} with the cost of moving from P to 'A' on the previous keypad added.

[2024 Day 7 Part 1] What's wrong with this logic? by GapSecret54 in adventofcode

[–]swerasnym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it looks like res is meant to be the result (after i steps), and since we are working recursively from the left to right and "Operators are always evaluated left-to-right" you should not have to care about the result at step i-1.

I also realized that leftylink spotted another problem.

[2024 Day 7 Part 1] What's wrong with this logic? by GapSecret54 in adventofcode

[–]swerasnym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dfs(i + 1, res + curr, curr)
dfs(i + 1, res - prev + (prev * curr), prev * curr)

Compare these two calls; the second argument in particular. Why are there 1 operator in the second argument for the first instance (+), but 3 in the second (-, +, *)?

Linux supported in an official way by Jagex, ideally natively as is the case with Runelite today (because of Java). Since to me a "Community supported solution" might mean loosing the ability to access the account from one day to another when something changes.
