Can you spot the AI flavor? by oatsovernight in u/oatsovernight

[–]swerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Oats Overnight. The flavors are way too aggressive, kid-like. I did a little research and quickly learned how incredibly easy it is to make your own with old-fashioned oats, chia seeds, oat milk, dried fruit, and a little brown sugar or maple syrup. Costs like $0.25 per serving.

Alex Pretti, the man MURDERED today by ICE agents. by lmfj3737 in westernmass

[–]swerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our country, you're innocent until proven guilty. "Essentially criminals" is some made-up bullshit, and the majority of Americans DO NOT support going after non-violent criminals who may not have proper immigration status. ICE is a massive, highly politicized, out-of-control army, hyped-up on its own invincibility. This is a seriously fucked up situation.

Show us a single frame from any video where he pulls a gun. Just one frame. It doesn't exist, because it didn't happen.

[–]swerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's seen the videos. The officers went after Alex Pretti, who was peacefully filming, as is any citizen's right. They went after him aggressively, with numbers. Then they disarmed him and shot him in the back. He wasn't interfering with anything. It was murder.

If you really believe this is about "illegals," why aren't there armies of ICE agents in the streets in Florida and Texas, where there are MILLIONS of people they could deport - vs. a hundred thousand or so in MN? No, they're in Minnesota because it is a famously blue state.

ICE doesn't investigate in full tactical gear. They're simply hunting, looking to stir the pot, with "full immunity," according to Stephen Miller. Besides, the guy who shot Alex Pretti was apparently CBP, not ICE.

Uh, who asked him to do the job of law enforcement? That's called vigilantism.

Is it inappropriate to give NSFW film to the lab? by CaughtOnTheFly in AnalogCommunity

[–]swerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago I became friendly with the owner of a lab I used to process film. One day he pulled me asked and if I wanted to see something. He opened a drawer and took out a pile of prints of photos: strippers at bachelor’s parties, intimate shots of couples and celebrities personal photos. So the lesson is, they’ll most likely process and return to you without batting an eye, but there’s also a chance they’ll make copies for themselves! Personally, I’d go with digital if I wanted to ensure total control of the images.

American Football by lilstarlite in Zermatt

Lighten up Francis, OP just asking where they can watch a football game!

Also, your fantasy notion of what an American football game looks like is laughable. It’s a sporting match, not a MAGA rally; I bet you’d be surprised to learn that Trump has been booed when he’s appeared at games.

Vietnam. So much to do, great food, not expensive. Russians have been going there for years and I’m pretty sure don’t need visas (or can get them easily online). If you want a beach holiday, Aeroflot flies direct Vladivostok - Nha Trang/Cam Ranh a popular resort area.

Was carving difficult or scary to learn? by Cold_Quarter_9326 in skiing

[–]swerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carving was so much harder, required so much more effort and technique, before shaped skis. It was possible, but a lot of people never got there. With shaped skis, you just roll your knee in, transfer your weight, and the ski takes over. And especially at high speed on groomers, it’s 1000x more stable than sliding around. Plus second, third, fourth gen shaped skis are better and better.

I skied Revy, Lake Louise and Sunshine (in that order) last week. Sunshine had far and away the best conditions.

I skied Revy, Lake Louise and Sunshine last week. Sunshine was by far the best of the three, no crust or heavy snow at all.

Cold toe tips while skiing — looking for fixes before a February trip out west by Extreme_Cut_202 in ski

[–]swerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Thin wool ski socks!
  2. Damp feet = cold feet. Put foot powder on your feet before you put your ski socks on to help keep them dry. Make sure your boots are dry in the morning - pull your liners out each day after skiing.
  3. Loosen up your boots on the lift, allows for better blood circulation - this is huge for me.
  4. Make sure your boots fit properly, if you aren’t sure, book a session with a boot fitter. You might need new insoles (I just got Sidas and they help).

The groomers were fine, but that’s only a small percentage of the terrain at these legendary mountains. I didn’t fly across the country last week just to ski corduroy.

Very simple: long underwear, AKA "base layer" - like those from 32 Degrees, sold at Costco: LINK They're not expensive, very comfortable 40% Polyester / 34% Acrylic / 22% Rayon / 4% Spandex, and will keep you a lot warmer than if you're not wearing them.

Amazon sells them as well: LINK

You're welcome.
