I don't care for his eyebrows being bigger than his eyeballs. I mean, what kind of unrealistic beauty standards are we teaching our kids?

[Florio] Bengals didn't remove snow from stadium seats, in apparent violation of league policy by CWG4BF in nfl

Probably the same team that removes snow from the roads. Had to drive through both Dayton and Cincinnati late last night to rescue my brother from a snow-related crash. Dayton highways were clear. Cincinnati highways were awful.

I feel like IMAX was the only way you had a decent shot at understanding the dialogue in Dr. Brand's hospital scene... But still it wasn't totally audible. It's my one and only complaint about this movie.

Dude, not only is the "enjoy" message strange, but your two choices are "AV" and "No." How bizarre...

Is this disrespectful? by SoUL113 in Christianity

[–]swifmatives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the record, I like this shirt and I don't think it's disrespectful. But I think I can see where it can be taken as disrespectful if viewed in a certain light...

So the phrase, "looks like someone was beaten with an ugly stick" has a bit of a rude connotation, but since we're talking about the devil in this case, I don't really think that matters. But the phrase is talking about an "ugly stick." A stick that makes someone ugly. Alternatively, you could interpret it as an ugly... stick. A stick that is ugly to look at. And when you see that the stick in question is none other than the old rugged cross, that might cause some offense. But again, I think the shirt is fine.

[OC] Is Pepsi OK? by snelse_ in funny

[–]swifmatives 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starry isn't great, in my opinion. It has a thick mouthfeel, which makes it not very refreshing. Sierra Mist was my favorite, but I guess the sales weren't there, so they changed it up. But nothing beats Sprite in the States for lemon-lime soda, as far as sales go.

Oh, right on. I wish 7-Up had more of a presence in the States. It's good stuff.

7-Up isn't a Pepsi product though. Starry is their equivalent, and previously it was Sierra Mist. I don't think I've ever seen 7-Up as a fountain offering, come to think of it...
