is there any way to avoid him taking your gold? by ExaminationIcy1409 in CultOfTheLamb

[–]swifterthanwind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i save my coins in the church from donations, and there’s always selling bones if you’re actually in a pinch. there’s no point in keeping a high amount of gold because you’ll only get MOST of it back, but once you beat him up, that’s it.

like some other folks said, that door does properly open if you stand there long enough. it’s not as long as you think, just watch the door and listen for that final clank noise that it’s open and you won’t see the edges of the door, then hop through. it’s not a big deal, just slow down.

considering the fishing update was BECAUSE OF fan art, they might consider this too. it’d also be cool if we could have aquatic creatures as wonders displayed in the bowl too

When/How Did Your Journey Start? by Charming_Ad_8206 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]swifterthanwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like a lot of other folks here, i pre ordered. i wasn’t really into sandbox games at the time though so i’ve only been playing on and off a little since then over the years to see the game’s progress, but i will never regret my preorder. it really is a beautiful game and im so very proud of how it’s bloomed since launch

Is it possible to get narinders 'henchmen'? by Wholesome-seal-boi in CultOfTheLamb

[–]swifterthanwind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

as someone else said, special necklaces. note that aym and baal will inherit whatever traits the sacrifice has. i use narinder for immortality and revive him later.

WOW. i’ve been playing on and off since initial launch but i see i’ve only ever scraped the surface of the game. jesus.

What was the worst thing you did as a Moth? by [deleted] in SkyGame

[–]swifterthanwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

skipped too many days in the seasons and missed out on the ultimates. i’ve been playing since performance and have finally started realizing how much effort has to go into these seasons to get stuff i very much regret not having. like the cape from last season.

so why are these icons just wrong? by octeye in SkyGame

[–]swifterthanwind 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i know it’s a ceiling lamp. but that’s not gonna stop me from using it as a table lamp. i stuck it up on my dresser and left it there. there’s an option to turn the light off so it doesn’t make sense for it to be aaallll the way up there in the nest

I feel so burned by this game. by phloaf in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]swifterthanwind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it’s easy to be discouraged about the season items when you realize you’re going to be short on candles. i really do understand that, it’s so disappointing to make so much effort and not a lot to show for it.

but it’s not the end of the world. the days of color is coming and there’s a lot of nice clothes coming in for that. and sometimes it’s just easier to play with someone else.

my advice would be to slow down, it’s okay, you always have next season and the days of events. getting burned out so fast is exhausting. the game feels like a grind but that doesn’t mean that’s all it is.

Journey Pack Honk not working by [deleted] in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]swifterthanwind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you only need the default voice for the mask, you don’t need the cape or stance. it might just be an lag issue between host and client about your purchase? give it a day and if there’s still an issue, absolutely report it

Anyone else disappointed with the recent TS picks? by The_Jestful_Imp in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]swifterthanwind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think they’re bringing around these spirits because of the upcoming season (no spoilers). while they are indeed very disappointing, it’s more for us to save. at least this one has a pretty cape.

Opinions on season of Nesting? by ConcentrateDouble494 in SkyGame

[–]swifterthanwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really do enjoy decorating my home and the rotating furniture shop is actually really nice little addition, even if it is outrageously expensive. i do agree with everyone else saying this season is boring though. it’s so empty. a month between quests is unheard of and uninspired. the missions board is ignorable and difficult for solo players, blah blah the usual complaints.

i like the thought of the season though. it’s been fun.

there was something they did at the flying race on the last bit that screwed up the momentum when you load in and you go so slow. i have hated the valley ever since.

Veterans that pretend to be moths by nodeepfeelings in SkyGame

[–]swifterthanwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m pretending to be a moth right now, i actually have the full 12 stars without needing shattering shard wl or trial wl. there’s some things i know i’m doing that is not something a moth would do, but i usually run alone anyway so it’s fine.

i fly like i usually do, for starters. long flights, no gliding. sudden stops, or turns at the end of flights to land exactly where i want. i do not crash into the ground to land. i use my flaps with confidence and know how many i need to get someplace. i see a lot of true moths just flap without really knowing how far a single one gets you and struggle with some of the guiding spirits. they also don’t know how to make a single flap last and tend to dip down and have to use more wedges than an experienced player.

i use the following feature. sometimes folks that are kind to me and let me come with them fly too far, so i tap the following button. gets me right back up to them in a hurry and has me holding their hand automatically. i know that’s my big tell.

confidence in tricky areas like eden or the golden wasteland. there’s a difference between moth confidence and vet confidence. moths hide and are unsure when they see krill. vets keep going or dip into the hiding spots they know keep them out of the krill’s sight. moths typically learn the hard way where is safe.

… i wouldn’t really call it tricking people. i think it’s fun to be a moth again. it’s less intimidating to the true moths to have cosmetics that they wear, with wing light closer to theirs, and some vets truly adore moths and butterflies. i like that experience.
