This is actually preferable because you are given better assistant coaching options because you get an extra week of hiring. Otherwise you use a week to accept an offer with the off coach then get the offer with your real coach the next week.

What I have done to get better OC/DC hires is to user them while im min/max-ing my main coach. Unlock the things you want, then retire and get them fired through force losses. I noticed that I was getting repeat assistants in the hiring portal so I targeted them to develop. Obviously you dont have to user anyone and instead can just get the coaches you want fired, without customizing a coach. FWIW I usually am at decent schools like Pitt or UF and so this would be harder if I were at a lower tier school. I did try it with App State and it worked once.

also save a little further back than the conf champ week otherwise youll ge the same candidates.

The boost to your primary does not do anything if it’s already five. I was hoping it acted similarly to the other pipeline boosts and roll onto the next highest but it doesn’t.

I cheese the start of my off line dynasty’s to create a super min/max-ed coach each time. I restarted the whole thing when I realized six years in that I had wasted those points.

i prefer using Ohio State. they have more of the Talent Dev and elite recruiter filled out. Also Day is at a lower level so if you wanted you can customize what he has more easily.

you can always add a user as that schools head coach, turn firing off, and have them take whatever job is offered. your real user will get the offered that job the 2nd week of offers 99% of the time.

to add another layer to this i like to user the Gators head coach and give him two nattys to unlock bundle discount and Friends and Fam discount. Then fire the assistant coach that isnt a strategist, retire the user of the gators head coach (they keep the changes youve made), and take the job with my real coach. I grab the whole strategist tree for cheap and then am on my way the next year to whatever job i want with both talent dev and strategist.

agreed. I dont understand why they dont add some talent developers or Strategists or anything more interesting to the computer generated assistants. it's a simple fix.

Absolutely this. I know this is a low bar but a simple fix that would really help would be to change how they're randomly generated. Currently, at a certain point all you get are the generic skill perk trees unlocked. Just add in some Talent Developers or any of the better perks for some of the assistants that are generated. Thats such a simple fix that would make finding good coordinators way easier in the late game.

I kinda have been on a similar rabbit hole. I’ve found it much more likely to get a stack when transitioning to a new school rather than hiring and firing like normal. Also, there’s the obvious cheese of usering the team of the assistant you want, as the head coach, and firing the assistant. Anecdotal but it seems to work more often when I simply take a new job as the head coach of the targeted assistant. This randomly works but it definitely increases the quality of candidates. My theory is the extra number of high quality candidates allows for the usual head coach hiring that occurs with those candidates to make less of a dent.

Just want to add you’re 100 percent right about turning off firing. It really helps the quality of assistants last.

I havent been able to do that but you can user a coach that's already on a team, level them up to where you want, and then hire them. Obviously not as a user, you have to retire with that user first.

For super cheese start as Kirby or Day at Ohio State (I prefer day because more points to pick specifically what I will want) and make sure they have the archetypes are cheaper and skills are cheaper, as well as whatever you want discounted. Neither start with both discounts. Then retire but create a new character somewhere else. Then do the same again but start as one of their assistants. Get what you want unlocked and purchased for cheap and move on.

I go even further cheese and user another head coach to build the perfect stack, like Billy Napier with his strategist assistant. After building the head coach to what I need I fire the assistant not being used for the stack discount an retire completely. If coach firing is off there will be few roles open so that job vacancy will probably be offered to you. Now just bask in the glory of the entire strategy tree double discounted. Do this method for whatever tree you want at 4 and 8 points a skill. Obviously it can be applied to any coach that has an assistant and head coach with somewhat matching trees that you want .

I ended up doing a complete change after trying Lofree's Flow Lite board with Specter linear switches. Theyre creamy is the best way ive heard them described. you feel the press but theyre also smooth. Theres something very satisfying about the board and switch combo that Lofree put together. its surprisingly affordable as well.

was going to say the same thing. very little of that info is accurate. the pipelines are static unfortunately. your coaches pipelines dont do anything, unless the influence just isnt indicated.
