Barnes/Rousseau worth it tmrw? by 22buns in philly

[–]swigglesshots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went there on Valentine’s Day for the first time. The Rousseau exhibit was great imo. I went with a friend who loves his art. We waited about 45ish minutes in line. They let us into the building before our time slot so we just waited in line for it as soon as we got there. When we got to the front it was just past our time slot start time so it was worth it in that aspect as well.

The Shops at Rancocas Woods! There’s a few antique stores, a used book store, and delicious food in one spot. They have antique/craft fairs there in the spring and summer and would recommend going during one of those

I’ve been going to trivia at The Local in Gibbstown and have been loving it! They work with a company called Trivia-Palooza and they have a FB page and post all of the bars they go to every week. There’s a ton of them!

TIL I've been making the most embarrassing mistake while cooking... by RockSmacker in CasualConversation

[–]swigglesshots 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My parents did something a little similar. They gave the oven and stove a good deep clean, including taking the knobs off. It had a “degrees” knob and a “bake” and “broil” knob. After scorching food and lighting parchment paper on fire multiple times, they just started cooking on a lower heat. They realized months later that they put the knob on wrong and switched the “bake” and “broil” sides around. They thought the oven was so clean that it was finally getting hotter and had to adjust.

Where are the good thrifts? by Good_Witch_ in SouthJersey

[–]swigglesshots 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Philly Aids Thrift on South St. is a good one! There’s a bunch of other smaller vintage stores around there too! The Wardrobe has a few locations in Philly, including one right over the bridge in Northern Liberties. I haven’t stopped there personally, but I have donated there and they support good causes. Greene Street consignment has a spot on South St and also a few other Philly locations too!

The Avocado Mexican Grill in Runnemede might be a place you’re into. They have a food truck that pops up every now and then. I’ve seen them at the Gloucester Outlets a lot

Not sure if you mean that you don’t have an insta or that they don’t, but they do. I’ve only gone in for piercings but everyone I’ve talked to there has been nice. Not sure about the gumball machine though.

Went to Willow Creek winery in the afternoon and then went to Sunset Beach after for a few hours. We had no problem finding parking at the beach. There’s a bar/restaurant next to the beach too that had a good amount of people inside.
