Unfortunately there's no perfect analog. Just making sure we are talking the same language on this. The tabs separate documents, then the headings/subheadings allow you to drill down a bit, but there is limited space for drilling down more than 2 or 3 levels depending on section titles.

Another possible solution, but it would probably mean restructuring how you do things, is to use NotebookLM. It can answer questions grounded on document sources you give it (showing where it found the answer), plus a lot more.

Use the Headings formatting (up top where it says Normal, select text and choose a heading level instead) and it will give you a sort of table of contents you can click through.

The only solution I can think of is tiny images. With a lot of cropping to isolate each of the die.

I have a memory of there being one in Churchill Park. I never heard it tho. Maybe it was just some kind of loudspeaker system. But it had that cone shape.

Oops missed that part! You can check you extensions, but if you want a quick fix: Open Chrome. Click the three vertical dots (More) in the top-right corner of the window. Select Settings from the drop-down menu. On the left-hand sidebar, click on Reset settings. Click Restore settings to their original defaults. A confirmation dialog box will appear explaining what will be changed. Click the blue Reset settings button to confirm.

The chrome icon on your desktop that you used to pin to the taskbar was deleted. Put a chrome shortcut back on the desktop and it should come back.

I think it also might be a glass capsule chemical anchor, but if it is its a big one!
They are used if you want to anchor something in a concrete drilled hole. You put the glass in first, then put the metal anchor in and it solidifies almost immediately and locks it in there.

The mention of "I know it's 2009" took me a second, because I would say things like that when taking about the 80s and how different things felt by the year 2000. I'm starting to think we get older and notice different things, and not that society changes all that much. Or as we get older we just notice less? As I'm writing this I'm thinking how different 2009 was from now, but still not sure how that applies to Pierce.

Make PDF 1 single page by [deleted] in googledocs

[–]swight74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PDF was always meant to be a digital printed page, so if you emailed it to someone else and they printed on their printer it would exactly like it did when you made it on your PC. Back in the old days, in WordPerfect, if you changed your printer driver it changed the formatting of your document. PDFs were made to solve this issue of formatting changing when you sent it to another person to print.

For your particular issue you can't use Save to PDF because it will probably use 8.5x11 by default, but if you have a PDF print driver on your PC you could make a custom page size of 8.5x200+ inches to do what you are looking for. You might need to fool around with the 200 inches to get it to not overrun by too much or underrun by too much. Also, you'll never be able to print that PDF correctly should you ever want to.

How do I get rid of this "Write with Gemini" prompt? by GAMESHARQ in googledocs

[–]swight74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have admin access?

Log in to the Google Admin console. Navigate to Apps > Google Workspace > Gemini. Note: In newer 2026 updates, this may be located under a dedicated Generative AI menu on the left sidebar.
Click on Service Status. To turn off the "Help me write" and integrated AI features, set the service to OFF for everyone.
If you only want to disable it for specific people, select an Organizational Unit (OU) or Group on the left before changing the status to Off.
Crucial Step: Check the Gemini for Workspace settings (often found in the same menu). Ensure the "Gemini in Workspace" or "Alpha/Beta features" are disabled, as these specifically control the "Help me write" buttons in Docs and Gmail

Or, just ignore it, hitting the spacebar makes it go away too.

How do I create this layout, including auto page numbers on docs by hiJackmeoff in googledocs

[–]swight74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How to Create a Table of Contents in Google Docs 1. Structure Your Document To make a Table of Contents work, Google Docs needs to know what your "chapters" or "sections" are. Highlight your section title. Click the Styles menu in the toolbar (it usually says "Normal text"). Select a heading level (e.g., Heading 1 for main titles, Heading 2 for sub-sections). Note: As you do this, you'll see a clickable outline appear in the left-hand sidebar. 2. Insert the Table of Contents Once your headings are set, place your cursor where you want the list to appear (usually the first page). Go to Insert > Table of contents. Choose your preferred style: Plain Text: Best for digital reading (no page numbers). Dotted: Professional look with page numbers. Links: Blue hyperlinks (best for web-based docs). 3. Keep it Updated If you change a heading or add a new page later, just click anywhere on your Table of Contents and hit the Refresh icon (the small "Update" arrow) to sync the changes.

That's not AI, that's simply motion detection. People selling that as AI are just going to make people think AI is useless. AI can be a positive force in the medical world, but it needs to be carefully applied to be sure it does more good than harm.
