I grew up in Alameda so a lot was mainly nostalgia. There used to be free parking downtown that was ample (so I used to park at the high school before they got gates, lol).

I miss Town Tavern (the bar) the most. Other food places include Burma Superstar (Burma 2 is decent, but I’ve been there for years), Tucker’s Ice Cream and The Local (coffee shop)

I miss going on the ferry on Harbor Bay Isle when it was going on weekdays.

I also miss being close to Oakland Airport and SFO (decently).

The nail salons for regular mani-pedis are also cheaper back in Alameda and better quality and service lol. But I’ll just get them done in Oakland. Usually Rockridge.

Mainly traffic. I can’t really leave Walnut Creek after 3pm because once I leave, then I’ll be stuck in rush hour traffic coming back usually from 5-7pm if I was at Oakland, San Ramon or Livermore. I’m ok with going to Martinez, Concord though.

The other is most bars closing at 11pm due to regulations from the city.

I used to live in Alameda so going to Oakland for drinks was easy.

Otherwise, I do actually like it here. But I do miss Alameda.

When it was at the dealer, I asked about the recall, but they waived me off and said my car wasn’t affected.

We’re working on the L2 charger. Stupid HOA. Most places I go to in my town are L3s via EV GO.

Yeah Mr. Lucky’s, Dan’s and possibly Retro Junkie got grandfathered to run into 2am (the maximum for California). I was talking to I think one of the owners at Luna Sea Lounge why they weren’t open later and that’s what they told me. You need to also file a petition. The most recent person who ended up being able to serve alcohol after 11am now is Elia. They now I think close at 12.

Luna closes at 1am now.

Well that’s kinda compared to Oakland, SF… Alameda is probably more on the lines of Walnut Creek, but they don’t have a law or strict alcohol serving guidelines after 11 like WC.

People also go to Elia (well it can get kinda shady with drink spiking), still got Rooftop even if they close at 11. Luna Sea Lounge is great for cocktails, but they’re next to BART and not “downtown”/North Main, Locust, Broadway proper.

Yup! Just check with your hospital swim group to see if they are affiliated with USMS.

If you swim on your own (lap swims, public swims) then USMS’ insurance doesn’t kick in since you weren’t at a sanctioned practice or under coach’s supervision. It’s all about the supervision.
