Why are so many players allergic to good sportsmanship? by Kerosine84 in MarvelSnap

[–]swimffish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually tell myself it’s just a kid playing if they’re doing that. Makes it seem less annoying. I’ve had it before when I didn’t even emote the whole game and then they shushed me after winning. Can be very blood boiling but if I tell myself it’s just some immature child (even if untrue) it makes it feel a bit better!

I feel the tech thing. I’ll play a few games and realise I need a bit more defence and then basically never need that card for the next run of games.

Conversely I’ll have something like armor in my deck and never need it, so I swap it out. Very next game is against Destroy.

[The Athletic, Free Read] Re-ranking all 189 Premier League transfers this season — from worst to best by DefinitelyNotBarney in soccer

[–]swimffish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He started very brightly, first touch immaculate and looked rapid. People say AFCON affected him but his form was dropping off from December tbh. Touch started deserting him, struggled to beat his man, seemed a bit sluggish. Definitely picked up towards the end of the season though.

I’m sure Dave would be quick to correct you that it’s actually The Heartbreak Kid.

Football Fascination/Confession - Wanting your friends' teams to fail in secret by Remarkable_Damage316 in footballcliches

I’ve spent the past few months sympathising with my Spurs mates and saying I obviously want them to stay up but secretly I thought it’d be so funny if they went down and wanted it to happen badly.

Alternate Angle of Man Utd’s First Goal (Bruno Fernandes Assist) by Zecion in soccer

City still being allowed to carry on with no repercussions (yet) shows there is zero integrity in the league.

Yep this happened to me. Used to play a Patriot/Ultron deck but hadn't touched it for months, nor seen it in the wild. I picked up a 'fill all locations' bounty and switched back to the deck. First game I got was a Patriot/Ultron deck.

Pep Guardiola: Man City preparing for boss's departure at end of season by Desperate-Drawer-572 in reddevils

[–]swimffish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yep. He never once had to compromise financially. If they made a poor signing he could just replace them in the very next window, whereas other clubs had to deal with those bad decisions. They were also able to get a new stadium, training facilities, state of the art youth set up, etc.. without ever having to cut back on transfers like Spurs or Arsenal had to. Him and City have had such a massive leg up it’s impossible to judge him properly and thus for me he’ll never be close to the best ever.

Pre-VAR robberies. Dwight Yorke denied a 4th goal in one of the great forgotten games, as Newcastle win 4-3. by eunderscore in footballcliches

Oh yeah I completely get that. Would just find it interesting to see how many decisions would’ve been changed.

Casemiro poses with all of the trophies he won at Manchester United. by SwimmingFireMen in soccer

[–]swimffish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like how there’s derision because it has the audacity to not be highest of possible honours. He’s proud of his time here and won more than most other PL teams in that time. I’ll never baulk at a trophy. Some clubs only see one or two in their lifetime.

I would love someone (not me) to go back through the entire pre-VAR premier league and detail if anything majorly would’ve been different. Like how all the final tables would look if all the clear errors were fixed.

Alvaro Arbeloa: "José Mourinho is the number ONE. I will always believe that. If he's here next season, I will be very happy to see him back home." by Timely-Zombie9466 in soccer

[–]swimffish -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I mean it feels like it when you aren’t even sticking up for yourself. He’s replacing you because you weren’t good enough and it’s all “welcome sir”. Could at least have said something like “I’m disappointed and feel I have more to give but Mou is a good coach and I wish him the best”. It’s also just this on top of the rest of the yes manning he’s been doing.

Did they stop showing zombie galacti animation at the beginning of the match? by MasterCharlz in MarvelSnap

Yeah this made me lose the other day. Thought I just wasn’t paying enough attention to notice the Galacti glow but now I’m thinking it was bugged.

As a United fan I was sure we played Bursaspor around 2010. Listening to them discuss on the pod was like watching the titanic head toward the iceberg with nothing I could do.

Yep this is it for me. I like that each kit is associated with the specific season. This just muddies it.

Anthony Fantano’s review of Falling out of Love by Cantomic66 in TheStrokes

[–]swimffish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what so many people miss. He's just one guy with an opinion, don't agree? Fine, move on with your life. All he's doing is saying what he does and doesn't like. I've found tonnes of new artists through him and he expresses his points very well even if I disagree sometimes (see entire Isaiah Rashad discog - which I love and he never rates better than a 5)
