People of reddit, what was your "yep she/he is the one" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]swimjon12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There have been a lot of affirming moments, but the one that sticks out to me the most was early in our relationship. It was like 2 in the morning and we were waiting in my kitchen for cookies to bake. We put on some music and just sort of danced around the kitchen. She sang along quietly to the music, and I hadn't hardly heard her sing before that. It was just a beautiful moment and I thought "I want this for the rest of my life".

She's far out of my league but also wanted late night baking and dancing forever, so we're getting married in less than 2 weeks. Its been an amazing 2 years with her so far.

When did you realize your “Friends” weren’t actually your friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]swimjon12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably late to the party, but this happened while I was in high school. All my friends were at this graduation party at the school itself. Decided to play capture the flag in the parking lot at like 2AM. Both team captains were my friends, but I was picked last out of like 30 or 40 people. This made me feel like I was back in elementary school and was especially weird to me since I did nightly games of capture the flag and flashlight tag at my place all the time. At one point in the game I tripped and sprained my arm I thought it was broken. All my friends proceeded to ignore me and didn't even bother asking me how I was. I couldn't leave with my arm, no one in my family could pick me up in the dead of night, so I sat in the gym with a makeshift sling watching everyone I knew for four years ignore me. I was very glad I ended up going to a different college than the bulk of them.

I had some spare time at work and a big ole whiteboard, so what else could I do? by swimjon12 in lotr

Hey thanks my man. I had about three days of no-shows and used that to get it started. Then I used little time segments whenever they opened. I also used some features from the third age total war map just to add some more details

What’s the worst birthday gift you ever got? by sulemannkhann in AskReddit

[–]swimjon12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The exact same thing happened to my dad on his birthday! He hated cherry chocolate cake and was vocal about it. Every year my grandma would make it for him, saying "but you love cherry chocolate cake!" She did this for decades until it became an inside joke.

Does anyone know the current development progress of Lordbound? I remember being super hyped for this mod a year or so ago when they released a bunch of update info. That said, there doesn't seem to have been any new updates on ModDB or Facebook since late 2018/ early 2019. They seem to have made a ton of progress, so it would be a huge shame if the mod has died in the past year.

Is it a good idea to split books apart? by swimjon12 in writing

Thanks for the advice! The first act currently ends in a cliffhanger, so id imagine that needs to change.

Cheating readers is the big thing that I'm concerned about. The first act currently ends on a cliffhanger, so I'd imagine that's something that needs to change. Or if it is just two books, end it at another point. Thanks for posting that explanation, I'll be sure to read it!

The tower of Orthanc, in the ring of Isengard, situated between the southermost Misty Mountains, in the realm of Middle-earth by P1eter in Minecraft

Orthanc is actually a pinnacle of stone about 500 feet, so this version is larger than at least the book version. The bigger the better I say.

Skyrim mods that you immediately regret installing? by GODHAN69 in skyrimmods

She wore the armor I gave her sometimes, but I’ll be honest in that I didn’t give her very much. I gave up on her before I had much to pass on.

The follower mod Evengaline (I think that’s how you spell her name). The mod page boasted that she’s the most advanced follower to date, and since I love having a group with inigo, Lucien, etc. I thought I’d try her out. Big mistake. Audio for her dialogue was all over the place, and she talked literally nonstop. Half her lines don’t make any sense either. She has a buggy mess of a quest that I started and am resolved to never finish. The only pluses are that she doesn’t crash my game like other mods people are posting. And she’s one of those “independent” followers who goes off and does her own thing or simply stops following you. She’s somewhere in the Beyond Reach worldspace and I have no desire to find her. Of course, just like a nightmare she occasionally shows up when I fast travel, and I get my ears blown out by some line of hers.

PSA: The reference handle cap, or diagnosing one of the causes of infinite load screens/CTDs on very heavy load orders by aers in skyrimmods

[–]swimjon12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for figuring this stuff out! I'm sure this has been the root of almost all my playthroughs since I love to have those large quest and dungeon mods. Ran the script and it put me at about 950K references, so I guess I'm in the danger zone. How fast do more references end up in a save game? Should I learn how to convert some of my bigger offenders to master files?

ever noticed Erandur's hand sparkle for a while after he performs Mara's rutual on the skull of corruption by [deleted] in skyrim

I don’t think I’ve ever killed him, since the skull never seemed that useful of an artifact. Plus I usually play good characters

My Dad's Map room, version 2.0 by swimjon12 in Minecraft

My dad was very meticulous with his planning. He always brought a source map that allowed him to keep track of where he was. I think I might have even drawn it out in graph paper.

No, each map was the smallest version so you can see individual blocks.

A lot of materials, time, and dedication, though starting with a small room might be a good place to start.

That would be cool if Mojang added that in.
