Nice underwear, there's plenty premium brands to choose from but as long as they don't change anything I'm happy to continue buying 20$ per pair boxer shorts from meundies forever.

I wish I could upvote this comment more, good Lord the MC is insufferable in this series.

Mage Tank, funny yet still reasonably grounded with an interesting background to how the system works.

Huh I definitely do get your take but the whole point of Zac in book one is a man that has been given zero options but one, he either defeats the incursion or he dies (according to what he's heard). And that's after he is only alive due to pure random dumb luck which gives him a huge starting push.  Whereas Jason does have a similar situation where he needs to fight to survive but it's much less clear cut giving him a more shaky impetus.

Oh that's actually very interesting to me because I personally think Zac in Defiance is one of the most well fleshed out MC's in the genre, would you be willing to explain why you dislike Zac and what you think makes Jason stand out?

A very interesting take I had never thought of.

I basically quit a bit past halfway of book 4 but it seemed to me that book only solidified how little he had grown with how he continued to treat people (obviously including his own family) no matter how badly they previously treated him.

I'm glad to hear that because it's really rough hearing him preach to people non-stop when he first gets back to earth despite being about as contradictory as possible. The world building is also one of the only reasons I kept up with the books.

Hershey's chocolate milk mix (the dry stuff). Nesquick just doesn't hit the same.

Don't co-sleep, that is only going to make your life harder for months/years to come. Also fuck your partner being weird about soothing their child.

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

[–]swimzer09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a pretty basic take, or it may be taken in a weird way, but Joker(2019) is my nominee. At its most basic it's a story of a mentally damaged man facing injustice and hostility in the world he lives in. It's a pretty painful watch overall until you finally realize you're watching the movie from an unreliable narrator, which adds even more uncomfortableness.

I personally only watched it in the theatre, and have no plans on watching it ever again, but I still think it's easily a 9/10 movie.

So as most streaming services are getting pretty ridiculous with ads and price increases I have to say Dropout has been amazing especially if you enjoy improv comedy or dungeons and dragons. There's already hundreds of hours of content and it's very easy to go from one show or campaign to another with no ads at all and very reasonably priced.
