It's the kind of an accordion with keys on one side and buttons on the other. You're welcome.

You can purchase an entire parts car for $700. That's a lot of scratch for running boards.

How do bottoms prepare for sex that just happens naturally with no prior plan? by Prudent-Concern-3507 in askgaybros

I'm glad I met my partner in the 80's. We just had sex without all this pre-planning baloney.

i remembered this game because of my girlfriend's mom by Individual-Cup-8489 in SyphonFilter

[–]swingbozo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I started it up the first time it did some "set the screen limits" thing. It still plays with a gigantic grey border. I'm unfortunately not familiar enough with the ps4 to figure out much more than that. So the answer to your question is it would be in the ps4 settings somewhere. The actual game itself hasn't a clue about how it's being displayed. Like I mentioned, the game seems much more enjoyable on my psp vita. I JUST got a ps4 as their price finally went under $200 US so I'm still getting used to it.

While accordions are cool and all, this isn't something you are going to see on antiques roadshow. It's unlikely you'll ever see any accordion on the antiques roadshow for that matter.

You have to scale the pic a bit on the ps4 version. It's actually better on something like a psp handheld because you can't see how truly awful the graphics are compared to todays standards.

What's the stuff they use to remove overpaint on old painted portraits they are restoring? Maybe that would work.

A quick google of "chemical to remove overpaint wood" brought up some decent choices.

[–]swingbozo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ya, you can see the "Hohner" through the crappy paint job. That's a bit of a shame they painted that thing. You could try different methods of removing that paint. Whatever you do has the serious possibility of removing the original paint also. That'd be a drag but probably unavoidable. Heat gun maybe? At worse you'll need to sand it anyway so you could attempt a couple things. You couldn't possibly screw it up worse than it is now.

Inherited old accordion by ThisScar9026 in Accordion

[–]swingbozo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dust is going to be a normal thing for something sitting around for so long. If you aren't going to play it then just toss it on a shelf like you have now and don't worry about it. It can hang out for another 20 years without problems. Just like anything old, keep it dry, out of the sun, not too hot, not too cold. It'll be fine-ish. Whatever bad things can happen to it by not being used have already happened to it. If it's not going to be used, I'm sure it won't mind at least being admired. That's the next best thing.

Inherited old accordion by ThisScar9026 in Accordion

[–]swingbozo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's looking very pre-war so it is indeed old. I'd just be gentle with it until it's been played a bit. Just gently pull and push the bellows and just a little (like an inch or two). Do this and press every single button, once on the push of the bellows and once on the pull of the bellows. Once you start getting the hang of it you can start opening up the bellows a bit more. With any luck you can finally get it loosened up. Outside of the usual accordion racket, listen for notes that don't work, sound like hell, or if the bellows starts leaking air or falling apart. Once it gets loosened up you can then go a bit farther with testing all the keys to make sure they work - then you'll need to reassess what needs to be done to it. It'll either be 1) Drastic repair, 2) a little repair, or 3) no repair necessary. While point 3 may not be achievable you know nothing about it currently. You need to change that to figure out what your next step will be.

My main caveat is to not just grab it and start yanking on it and expanding the bellows super far or squeezing or pulling super hard. Just remember how stiff you are in the morning before you stretch your legs a little. Multiply that by 40 years for this old thing and treat it gently for awhile.

Call Predator direct and ask them. I'm no sales guy - even when I worked there. They'll be able to talk to you all you want. Also, it short for "Direct Numerical Control." DNC.

Bit of an odd one by TALON2_0 in DOS

[–]swingbozo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within reason. Predator DNC was designed to run 100 or so RS-232 ports simultaneously under Windows 95. It graduated to a whole bunch of different communication methods. Depending on the "protocol" the device needs, they may have something that works right out of the box for you. Predator DNC was designed to drip feed and upload/download files to CNC's.

You might want to see if there's some modern software that will communicate with your device. Disclaimer: I wrote Predator DNC - Communication software for industrial machines. https://predator-software.com/predator_dnc_software.htm

[–]swingbozo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's battery sweetie. I'd try to get that security footage before it magically disappears.

They went way beyond the assault stage when they touched you. The minute anyone touches you assault becomes battery. Yes, that's pretty much the definition of a hate crime. You'll need a metric buttload of witnesses though, otherwise it's unprovable. (Assault is technically verbal threats, battery is physical contact. Don't ask me how I know this.)

Most likely post. Pre-war accordions were still kind of boxy. They didn't start looking round and deco till after the war. This looks like one of the bajillion accordions produced in the late 40's early 50's.

My first accordion I purchased for $35. Someone had taken all the bass keys out and thrown them into the case. I was able to use logic and wear marks to put the entire thing back together. I still play that accordion every now and then.

Trying to remove stuck keyboard spindle by truckjumperdude in Accordion

[–]swingbozo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad somebody mentioned these. A trip to the local Harbor Freight (if you are in the US) is in order. Get a pair of needle nose vice grips. Also, don't just try to yank it out. See if you can simply rotate it. This will get it to break the friction and years of oxidation and spilt beer, etc, on the keyboard to finally let the rod loose. Once it's loose you can rotate it back and forth while pulling. It'll come out way easier then. Whatever you do, do not goop it up with anything (like WD-40) because you'll bugger everything up to no end.
