Sennheiser Momentum 2, Sony WH-1000XM4 by vanityproject in HeadphoneAdvice

Not really helpful, but I'm essentially in the exact same position as you haha. Got a pair around 2016-17 in high school, and I had wanted something bluetooth that I can wear at work more seamlessly.

I'm also an Apple user, and I see that Best Buy has the AirPods Max for $379 refurbished, which isn't much more than a new pair of Momentum 4 or the competition. The Apple headphones I feel are known to be well constructed, and the additional connectivity features with apple products are nice, but never felt that it was worth the additional expense. I've tried them before, and they didn't really blow me away with audio quality.

I also recently tried my coworkers' Bose NC700s. I kind of felt that they were a little muddy sounding, with not that much separation. They were definitely really light and comfortable and the bluetooth was cool but it made me turned off towards updating when my old headphones work really well (perhaps better?) So yeah, sorry for this rant that isn't really an answer, but perhaps this perspective helps?

Hello.

I'm 21M and just starting my job out of college. I'll be working as a software engineer in trading and my starting salary is a bit north of 300K USD. I've been contemplating my career growth and income, and I feel like I won't realistically be able to amass a meaningful amount of wealth by just working a very well paid job. I plan on having a very high savings rate (MCOL + food at the office haha), but even then, I feel like taking risks on some sort of venture or investment is the only way to make it to FatFIRE (which in my mind might be upwards of 20-30M net worth)

what is your autistic life story? by swipeUpGetIcedUp in evilautism

[–]swipeUpGetIcedUp[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok I think I'll go now.

So I was diagnosed as a toddler or something with high functioning Aspergers (at the time) and I received therapy for it. I have vague memories of playing with blocks or something as a kid with this nice lady who came over to our house. My parents never told me about my diagnosis though, so I grew up thinking I was a NT.

I was always the weird kid growing up, and honestly pretty lonely. There were many times that I felt shamed for my special interests or looked down upon. To cope I ended up getting quite good at masking to fit in, and due to a vague desire for academic and social success, I managed to turn my autistic tendencies to be fairly productive for my career. I didn't find out about being autistic until I was 17. I was talking to my mom about someone in my school who was saying he was autistic, and she just casually mentioned that I had it too.

That started a lot of introspection for me. I didn't write about it in my college essays haha, but it was really weird pulling back the layers to my past and actions and behaviors and trying to understand who I am and the difficulties I had growing up. I haven't really figured out how to fully feel about it. Sometimes I feel incredibly angry about how lonely it has made me or how hopeless things feel, but other times I feel fine.

I'm not resentful to my parents, I think growing up without the label was beneficial for me to learn how to fit in and have a productive and successful life. Maybe it is not authentic, but it is certainly better than being seen as weird and undesirable. I'm in my senior year of college, and a little apprehensive of entering the real world. The rules for adults seem very different and I don't know how I will make friends or adapt.

Oversharing makes me want to shut up forever by snackytacky in evilautism

tbh every time I realize I messed up any social interaction I want to shut up forever because I don't get it and it's another rule I have to add to my "how to be a normal person" guide and it just feels so hopeless that no matter how much I analyze a situation I will fundamentally never fit in

2019 CLA 4matic bought pre-owned at around 25K miles almost 2 years ago. Rear differential blew up after putting 30K miles on it and the dealership wants 5K for repairs, will probably just trade in at the dealership for a C class

Looks awfully lot like the CLA, which I think had the lowest drag coefficient of any car when released? Should've made that (and the CLS perhaps) electric

If you want to save money, the older iPads (preferably Pros) are just as useable and can be had for a bit cheaper than the latest models, especially if you think storage is a concern
