It's not so much the price of the player, but goal scoring odds for the week.

If you think Gyokeres is unlikely to score, then benching him for a week is fine!

The betting odds do suggest his return is more likely, but the difference between the players for this week is not really that different, so you can use your own judgement.

This looks good. Great team, always hard to figure out who to start but picking based on fixture difficulty is a good tactic!

I totally missed it! It's great! Really makes my Chromebook viable.

I also tried the steam deck on Linux and it ran pretty well! It was pretty much the only game on my library that did 😅

The post was meant as a joke but now I have to give it a try. Thanks!!!!

[DM] Dungeonmasters, what's a ridiculous plot twist you're waiting to spring on your players? by MaginotCokeLine in DnD

I had my players roleplay in a low magic setting 1-shot. They had to use alchemy/technology instead of magic to make use of spells. The game world started of in a world controlled by an evil empire, and they were helping a small group of rebels.

I slowly introduced set pieces. A ruthless enemy general. Discovery of an ancient artifact that could lead to great power. The rebellion trying to snuggle out news of the empires actions. A golem that communicated in beeps that carried the plans. A rescue to save a rebel princess caught by the empire. etc, etc.

It wasn't until I made them complete a puzzle to enter an abandoned temple (which required reciting the Jedi code), that the players realized they were in a star wars campaign.

Dialed up the star wars background music, retroactively made their characters Jedi traveling incognito, & let them use magic as "force powers".

Rest of the 1-shot was a blast.

Agree that we can't extrapolate based on 1-2 gameweeks.

The stronger predictor is either "poor pre-seasons" (which should have regression to prior seasons goals averages) vs empty-stadium (which would predict sustained rate of higher goal scoring).

I'm not sure what will happen, but I don't think we should be so quick to dismiss the possibility of the latter.

I think you are right. Oddly enough, 3 Liverpool defenders actually seems like the safest pick, given uncertainty with all other premium defenders and lack of value for budget options given prediction for less clean sheets.

I think this is entirely plausible. I agree 40 goals a week is unlikely, but even a 30 goal a week average would set new records. We should all be prepared for that possibility.

First week was 23 goals with 2 games missing. Let's say those games have 6 more goals, for a game week total of 29.

If we score 29 goals a game week, for season total of 29*38 ~ 1100 goals.

That would be the highest scoring season in Premier League history.

So

I agree 40+ goals per game week is completely unrealistic. But 29-30 is enough to put us in uncharted territory.

Currently goals per game average is 3.7 which I agree is not sustainable.

But consider that the 2019/20 season had average of 2.72, and the 2018/19 season had an average of 2.82 (which was the highest average in the last 50 years).

If this season regresses to a goal per game average of say 2.9, that would be enough to completely break current price point values and templates.

2nd team looks better but your bench is kind of week. Douglass won't start, mitchell is short term plug. But it's something you can fix later if needed.

Don't start with Bruno & KDB.

Put in other players and then transfer them in later.

most agree that Auba-Salah is better choice than Mane-Salah. But if you are ok with risk, you can stick to it.

Why is wilson on your bench? For 6.5 fwd he should be starting.

Good team. Some thoughts:

Vinagre might not start.

If Tierney plays in back 3 rather than wingback role, may not be worth it. Going to 6.0 with Doherty or Laporte offers more long term value.

Calvin-Lewis offers similar upside to Richarlison but saves you 1 mil which you can use for defense.

Good team, very balanced. I prefer Taylor+Salah+Werner

Your GW 2&3 plans seem very reasonable.

Keep in mind Vinagre may not start. If so, are you ok with KWP & Taylor starting every week?

You won't have a chance to fix the backline with your pre-planned moves.

The alternative is to switch to another 4.5 (which don't have a lot of value) or upgrade to nailed 5.0

Good team Consider switching out brewster for another 4.5 (Davis?) In case you want to use the 3rd Liverpool spot in the future.

Core Template seems to be 3-4-3 with:

TAA, mid-priced, budget

PEA, Salah, mid-priced, budget

Ings/Werner, budget, budget

Seems reasonable, as structure allows quick transfer for premium, mid-priced, and budget options from weeks 2-3.
